Greetings!

Seeking your assistance again fellow VJers.

I was wondering if you know any taxi cab or private car service that can be booked for December 18 and how much would that cost. My fiance will be coming over on the said date and from the air port, he'll drop his things off at my place then we will proceed to US Embassy to get his certificate. After which, we will go to city hall to apply for the license and then go back to my place to get his things and then proceed to the hotel.

Thank you in advance and God bless!

Where do you live? We used to hire someone here around our village with his van to bring us to any place we want.. But I pay him each day I rent his van with him and depends on the distance and how many hours...

I suggest ask someone from your neighbor because they won't overcharge.

Example, we live in Carmona, if we want to go to Festival Mall Alabang (this is the nearest mall from our home) I pay him P2500 (he will just drop us and pick up when we are done shopping or watching a movie. Most often we will just stay 3 to 4 hours in the mall)

We've used Safari rental cars/vans. Always were on time and furnish drivers too. I think they have offices in Makati and Sta Rosa.

A bit OT, but this is just something about cabs...

Crooked cabbie mistakes LTO chief for 'promdi' passenger

By Perseus Echeminada

The Philippine Star - Sunday, November 9, 2008

After mistaking the Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief for a promdi passenger and charging him P700 for a ride to Quezon City,

a taxi driver at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) found himself in detention, without a license and his cab impounded.

The erring driver made the serious mistake of refusing to flag down the cab meter for his passenger, whom he did not realize was LTO head Alberto Suansing.

"The driver, who mistook me for a promdi (Filipino slang for someone 'from the province'), refused to flag down his meter

and told me that I have to pay P700 as fixed fare," Suansing told The STAR.

"I just ignored him and told him to proceed to Quezon City," he said.

Suansing said he took the airport taxi to verify reports of drivers ripping off passengers, especially from the provinces.

On the road, the driver kept asking him for the specific destination but Suansing merely told him to keep driving to East Avenue.

East Avenue is where the LTO head office is located. Sensing something was amiss,

the driver asked Suansing who he was and insisted on knowing where they were going.

Upon reaching East Avenue, Suansing instructed him to enter the LTO compound. The now panic-stricken driver asked him

again,"Sino ka ba? Bakit sa LTO tayo papasok? (Who are you? Why are we going into the LTO?)"

Suansing then told the bewildered driver: "I am the chief of the LTO. I am arresting you for taking advantage of a passenger."

Suansing said he has confiscated the license of the erring driver and also impounded the taxicab.

A Taxi from each location is no problem. Just be sure the meter is turned on and do not have them wait for you, as taxis are plentifull.

To avoid a rip-off from the start. Have him take the escalator from the arrival area upstairs to the departure area. Plenty of taxis there droping off pasangers.

Rip-offs are avoided by insisting the driver run the meter, if he does'nt...get into another. And by all means..do not let them wait to take you to another location!!! If you do, your inviting trouble because that's when the driver's "cost of time negotiation" rivals a laywer's cost per hour

I live in Sta. Ana. J has thought of hiring a taxi or a car since we'd be going to a number of places upon the date of his arrival. I've yet to find a neighbor who owns or drives a taxi/car. Thanks again for the kind reply. Gbu. :D
