I yearn for the good ol' days when the Russia forum was like gulag camp..... nothing but old, bald, overweight rich guys and mail-order brides. (And pie.) Now it's like the Off Topic forum with a semi-Russian introduction.

Seriously guys, I'm all for not moving topics from where they originate, but go ahead and move this one, and the rest of the popcorn-infused threads like it, back to where they belong and out of our forum.

The backstory: this entire thing stemmed from Kotenochek's "I got AOS!" thread being moved. The organizer who moved the thread refused to move it back. After I protested the move in the "Site" forum, another organizer who remained anonymous, performed a passive-aggressive "f*** you snub" on the RU forum by moving another thread out.

So I'm sorry that this annoyed you, but the few wingnuts who think they can just drive-by and move threads out of the regional forums willy-nilly should now see that they risk having their noses bloodied for it, which should in the long term provide the solitude (for lack of a better word) that you're after. As I said in another thread, I think the moderators and organizers as a whole do a fantastic job. But there are a few bad apples, and my head spins in amazement that these few are allowed to retain their privileges.

See what happens when we all work together? We got a thread moved out of RU, moved back again, and finally locked down!!! Now if we could just work on the timing and make it all happen in one day. What an accomplishment that would be!!

To be quite honest, I'm not going to waste time "debating" inside the Russia forum with anyone other than folks that belong here and I really don't have time to read through the ####### that doesn't belong here that's been showing it's ugly head a lot more frequently as of late.

There'll be no explosion because that would be like debating the downsides of welfare with someone already on the dole.

To kind of reiterate what I said earlier, this thread of nonsense was an unfortunate necessity. It's because of this thread (and a couple others in a couple other forums) that certain organizers will think twice and three times before mucking around in our community. I know (and knew at the time I participated in it) that this would annoy the ####### out of RU members, but the alternative was worse. In this case the drive-bys did us a huge favor.

As a registered, card carrying member of every forum concerning Eastern Europe, I insist that you immediately go to the Barney room and stop trying to irritate all of us here! We are sensible, level-headed, caring VJ citizens, and we do not appreciate you trying to mess up our harmonious kumbaya-singing social circle by criticizing our beloved mods.

Mags is good peoples and I realized her post was in jest but I wanted to reiterate my point of this forum is not for the "oooh, you hurt my feelings. You're so dumb!" type posts. There is a place for that ####### and it can be done there. Whether or not posts get moved, I could care less about. If it's really important, it'll get reposted. Plus, with the 84 pages of information already backlogged here, it's not like someone can't find the same thing already talked about 12 times in the past.

Now, don't get me wrong, I like pie just as much as the next guy but what separates us from the rest of the VJ community is we have pie... not popcorn! I fancy us being somewhat more evolved than the rest of the VJ community and as such, we can't stoop to the low levels of "he said, she said, you hurt my feelings, my dad can beat your dad" posts.

To be quite honest, when someone from Jamaica stops by and says, "Congratulations for you NOA I!" I find it somewhat irksome but I understand. When someone from Canada stops by and says, "what gives you the right to form an opinion on which color cat you should buy?" I find it irritating to the point that I want to "blame Canada." But, the biggest waste of my time on VJ is when I see grown people from any forums stop by here and complain about someone else hurting their feelings and their subsequent need to justify why they typed another useless post in response.

I'm not saying don't do it (It's a lot of fun sometimes!) I'm just saying don't do it here. Please.

So, what do I have against the burka? Only that it is a symbol of oppression and that ALL women hate it, even the women who say they don't hate it, because they're clearly just being manipulated by their patriarchal society. I'm surprised that Vika puts up with it, quite frankly.

For the record, I'm not upset at any of this, it just takes away from the sanctity of our Forum where we're usually free to talk about burkas and codewords for porn without having "outsiders" dropping in making accusations about us making our mail-order wives wear burkas while we watch porn. And, I'll take it a step further and say I love burka porn. T&A ROCKS! Toes and ankles. Toes and ankles.....
