Hi all;

I got my medical in Halifax, Nova-Scotia. The last ones that was being done with Dr. Doane. The date was October 29th, 2008. I got the papers on November 19,2008. When I was there, he told me every thing look good. All I received was a small beige envellope written all over it, "Do not open" and also a copy of the vaccination records, apart from the enveloppe., just a page. I got the CD, when I was there. What I want to know is, how does one know what's inside the envellope? I mean, what "IF" I am not healthy enought for immigration, would a Dr. not let me know before, and NOT let me travel for interview to Montreal (whenever that comes). It wouldn't be fair for me to go, if things are not ok and spend money I don't need to spend. And let me mourn not ever seeing my husband again. It just seems odd to not have any results of any kind. You pay and you don't get to know anything. And I had to get the flu shot, which he told me was required for Immigration. Another $20. I had gotten all the vaccinations, even those not needed. I misunderstood all the vaccinations. Every thing must be good to go? Sheesh! Ya would think for that kind of money, they would at least share information. : :unsure:

If he found something alarming/wrong, he would have informed you.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
