daboyz, thats funny. I was just talking to my husband (over skype, ofc, what did u think?and with the 7 hours difference) about this. about how Vermont is tiny, has like 650.000 ppl living there, at least half in school or old, then the housewives, the residents who are not citizens, and so on, not many there who can be hired at VSC. he said to place the center there was probably some favor for a senator or something, to create jobs. and I think it might be right. but really, affects us, and is us who create their jobs in fact, no? no immigration, no centers, I'd say. no fees, no employes. I am being mean, maybe? I was much nicer before this process,

I'm positive some Senator pulled that one off. There's in no good reason for it to be there. I know it is less than 30 miles from the Canadian border, but let's be real. Reminds of them putting the FBI's National Fingerprint Center in West Virgina thanks to Robert Byrd.

the visa might be a privilege, but when u decide to file for a visa, u start with some informations. and u pay yr fees, and u start the wating, and then accept yr life to be digged in, and yr intentions questioned, and so on, but u are aware of this from the beginning. what u r not aware of is how the process will go on from filing. because u r told one thing, and u get yr number to check yr case on the site, and u think oh, how nice, organized and civilized everything is. but in the end u discover there is no real rule, the site is a joke, the phone officers just tell u what crosses their minds when u call and so on. and Id say if the visa it is a privilege, to be treated during the process as u have been told at the beginning of it, is yr right. if we knew would be so long and chaotic, would have considered my husband changing his job for one in Europe as an option, for example.

I agree that it is a privlege. What I don't agree with is depending on what state you live in, your petition could take 30 days to be approved, or 7 months. Seems like they should at least try to treat the whole country somewhat equally. It would even be fine if one was 60 days faster than the other, but a 6 month difference depending on where you live is absolutely not fair. I don't think that has anything to do with a visa being a right. It's about fairness. I thought that's what this country runs around the world telling other countries how they should be fair.

let him breath, CM, his case is pending since over a year. that can make anyone crazy. brokenhearted, i really think u should start being agressive with VSC. like be on the phone and get infopass or how they call it every day. that is too long. maybe they lost it or something. is really too long even for them,I think. and is also scarry for the rest of us.

I just sent out 13 letters to the Senate Judiciary Committee and blasted them for such an efficient operation. I have been fighting this for 4 years........................do ya think I'm pissed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

12/04 met online

04/05 met in Hong Kong (2 weeks)

09/05 petition sent I-129 via lawyer (what a rip that was)

04/06 trip to Shenzhen, gave her diamond (to small boooo)

11/06 interview

11/06 DENIED "not a bonafide relationship"

02/07 married in Hong Kong & Shenzhen sightsee (1 month stay)

11/07 I-130 sent in

01/08 NOA-1

04/08 I-129F sent

05/08 NOA-1

11/08 sent letter to cancel OLD I-129F (2005) petition so no problems

11/18 received confirmation (email) letter received (VSC working on the old I-129F) quickest response ever from any governmnet agency !!!!!!!!!!!!

11/08 13 letters sent to Senate Judiciary Subcomittee Immigration

11/25 mailed me for more evidence, don't understand this delay new

I-129F (05/08)

11/29/08 received request for more evidence.......I forgot to check "NO' for domestic violence, homicide, manslaughter etc etc,

how stupid of me gezzzzzzzzzzz someone KICK ME please.

Also received action to the old WAC petition I-129F to reopen to withdraw petition.

12/01/08 I checked the "NO" box and sent in to VSC.

12/02/08 requested expedite services (need life saving operation)

12/06/08 received email new I-129F back in process mode

12/19/08 denial to expedite petition (unbelievable)

12/30/08 USCIS sending why the denial old I-129F (cant wait to get that response)

01/03/09 Finally received both NOA-2's today, my heart cant take it.

01/09/09 Received 1st letter from NVC for $70.00......no no no I want to process the I-129F. Got my birthdate wrong, have to fix that.

03/24/09 Interview........DENIED HK

Not to keep beating a dead horse, but why are K-1s being approved from June and July at VSC, while people with March dates for K-3 and IR-1/CR-1 still wait. Not trying to start a marriage vs. fiance thing, but those should also be somewhat equal. Basically the worst place you can be, is married at VSC.

yes, but I think for a K1, the local embassy/consulate looks more into yr case than USCIS. Is not immigration visa, thats why is faster. K3 isnt immigration either, but offers more beneffits once u get it. like mutiple entries. with K1 u get there, get married, and come back home to start the I130 process, or u r stuck there until u change yr status. eitherway, the k1 waiting is just one step from more waiting, and u r stuck home or there. I might be wrong, but I think is like this, as far as I remember since we considered it too at first.

Only difference between K-1 and K-3 that I can think of, is the multiple entry. i.e. not having to apply for advance parole to leave the country.

daboyz you are dead-on about this. I know some have seen this from other posts I have made, but, my friend who lives across town got his 129F NOA-1 back from VSC only 2 weeks before me. We helped each other with filling out the forms. My 129-F NOA 1 was 4/4. He got his NOA-2 in 58 days. Yeah, no lie-58 days. Exit interview 6 weeks later, and his fiance (wife) was in the States from Russia by late june. Me, I'm still waiting for my NOA-2. The difference? His was for a K-1, mine for a K-3.

No question VSC pops most (not all) K-1's way faster than the K-3's. Trust me, if I had to do it all over again, with what I know today, no doubt I would have gone K-1.

Was he VSC?
