You guys are cracking me up..Bridget, Layla....someone else but I can't remember their name off hand.

I don't know how anyone else feels about it, and yes I did get one. I was married once before, and I vowed that I would NEVER rely on anyone to take care of me again. I take great pride in the fact that I am a self supporting and successful career woman. So I suspect that my views a skewed.

That being said, to me expecting, asking, or receiving a large one would be like a slap in my face. Don't pay me. I am neither a hooker nor am I going to be paid for a green card. I heard somewhere (was it this thread?) that a woman has more value if she is lighter. I have the typical white skin, blonde hair(temporarily auburn now just for fun), light gray/green eyes. Do I think I should get more for these qualities? Not in the least. I find that the woman with dark skin, black hair, brown eyes can be and are quite stunning. I would NEVER think that what I have would EVER be above any other quality of a woman.

One other note, if it were appropriate to place a value on a woman it should be placed on her heart, her kindness, her generosity, and her personal values. That is worth more than looks.

 I really like your style!

Sister Sher, I didn't say that's how it works; I was just showing my respect for sister morocco; who is a really spiritual person and rawks

I've read a lot of women in several regional boards boasting about religion this and god that, and then acting like the least compassionate people ever (aka total biotches). They know their theology and scripture all right; but certainly do not follow the examples of love and compassion pretty much any prophet/religion gives.

Spirituality is a not a theory --- we have to live it. Whichever the path we take. Otherwise, we are just a bunch of hypocrites calling on to our respective deities when it is convenient - that is effing lame and certainly not spiritual.

I agree. Average-looking and kind, intelligent, etc or "Hawt" and a total b!tch? No real choice on that one. I can't tolerate a b!tch.

I got lucky with Mags. Didn't have to make a choice.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Ok i have a question about this then....if lets say you were given a mahr to marry someone, wouldnt that be like a mail order bride, without the postage? And isnt that in some way visa/greencard fraud?
