I just called NVC and they informed me that they have finished scheduling interviews for the month of December and to call back next month to see if I get a January appointment. I knew odds were against a December interview but I was still hoping :(

How is that possible? Maybe they're pulling your leg to get you to stop calling.

I thought that NVC approves what they need to approve, then sends everything to the embassy or consulate which handles the interviews and scheduling for interviews.

Go listen to some free beats:

NVC schedules the appointments for certain consulates. The middle east countries being among them. They will not forward the case to the embassy until after they schedule the appointment. Embassies on the list for NVC can't schedule the interviews so it is out of their hands. Trust me, you can look around, many people have to call NVC to get their interview date. Also, they usually only schedule for the next month. If you don't get in, you must wait another month and hope to get scheduled as is the case for me since the embassy I use is really backed up.

Although the NVC operators will tell you that 'scheduling has been completed for the month' - that does not necessarily mean that it has.

I have seen many stories, with interview scheduling at the Montreal consulate in particular, where the person was told (on more than 1 phone call) that scheduling had been completed - call back next month.

In fact sometimes scheduling goes on well in to the 3rd week of the month and unless you get a REALLY helpful operator on the phone, they are not going to actually look to see if the embassy you are referring to really has completed scheduling.

I know this because it happend to me as well.

I recommend that you give them another call at the end of next week to double check and good luck for a speedy interview

I think so too, they're probably getting lots of calls to find out the dates of their interviews. They should be done scheduling tomorrow so people can call them on Monday to know for sure if they were scheduled for a December interview.
