can't get through to uscis on phone

hi everyone. i'm new to VJ. my fiance and i sent our i-129F on oct. 31st and got our first NOA on 11/04, but when i try to check the status online, i get this:

* Case Status Retrieval Failed

* This Receipt Number cannot be found at this time in this automated system. Please check your case receipt number to see if it is correct. If you have questions or concerns about your case status, please contact the National Customer Service Center.

i am unable to get through to anyone on the phone at 800-375-5283. because it doesnt recognize my reciept number there either, i am unable to do anything. the stupid recording keeps saying there is customer service available, but there is no prompt for getting to them. please help. does anyone know how i can actually speak to a person there???

If you are calling today they are probably closed for Veterans Day... It can take several weeks or longer to get into the online system

If marrying an alien, usually after 5-6 years, it's all over. Let me think here for a second from the time I first applied for my wife to be until she got her USC. 4 years, 11 months, 8 days, guess that wasn't too bad. Still can go back to the case status, still on-line, did receive the applications, but that was it, was frustrating going there day after day to read the same old message.

Yeah today holiday and sometimes it will take a few weeks for case status to show up - dont worry - it will be there and then you can be complusive about checking it every hour like we did

8am to 6pm. They don't say what time zone though. I just talked to a very rude lady there though. I got through by pressing 3 for a lost receipt.

when our package got mislaid in the mail we called them up to and were told that given the date we mailed it on..29th oct...they wouldnt be able to tell us anything there until 4th dec!!! ugh...frustrating! all sorted now for us tho..phew! well they received it at least...now let the waiting begin!!
