RFE... Confused

Do most RFE's happen after you get your NOA1? I thought that they give you an RFE before the NOA1. What are some of the reasons why they would do that? Lack of evidence? I am just worried because so far everything has been going well and I would hate to be blind sighted by an RFE... :(

Any experience,advice, comments??

Thanks!

Allison

Yep, confused.

NOA1 = Petition receipt, this is sent out bu USCIS when they receive the petition, and before they even start working on the petition.

An RFE would happen between NOA1 and NOA2 (Approval)

Only thing that can happen BEFORE NOA1 is the case getting sent back due to forgetting to include fee payment.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

absolutely with YuAndDan on that.... you will find most people are wary and worry about RFE's holds etc - it is a natural feeling but if you do get one then usually it can be resolved simply by sending them what they ask for.... in our case we had RFE for divorce certificates (though I KNOW we sent them in). Easy for me to say now that we completed the K1 visa process but my best advice is try not to worry too much.

Amen to that. When I think about all that we worried about during the process, good heavens, what a waste of worry box space. Not one thing came to be, and if they do, like truffles said, just give them what they want and keep on going. Good luck.

We had an RFE as well...it took exactly 60 days after i sent in what they wanted that we got the approval.

Usually its for lack of evidence.

Good Luck.
