Officially Moved Into Our New House :)

We were living in an apartment and working on the house for about three months (painted everything, new carpet, new tile, blaaah :) ) and just moved in last week. I really didn't think of it as our house until my wife put up pictures of the Ambassador Bridge (bridge between Detroit and Windsor, ON). Those three pictures on the dining room wall really hit me last night when I was remembering going over every weekend to visit her and then those tough late Sunday nights/Monday mornings when I'd leave her to start up another work week while she was being kept away from me. I can't tell you how much those little things make me feel so grateful and relieved that those times are behind us. For all of you still in the process or going through rough times waiting for everything to work out, I just want to wish you the best of luck and tell you that I genuinely hope everything goes as fast and as well as possible for you!

My wife has been back since June 5, 2007. Now we're just livin' man, L I V I N :)

congrats!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Congrats on the new place!

The picture of the Ambassador is an AWESOME idea(I think I might steal it ;) )

I'm with you on the comment about the early morning trips back home to go to work....I'm doing that now. It only takes me about 1 hour to get from his place in Michigan to mine just outside Windsor, so I try to stay as late as I can, hehe. (better than the 4 hour trip back when I lived in T.O).

Although living apart in each's country is an experience in itself, I can't wait to be in your shoes & sit back to remember these times now, and grateful they're over, happy to be living together.

All the best to you both.

:) Thanks very much!

I'm sure you're getting to know the nice border guards at the bridge as well. Some of them starting talking to me about our situation and knew my name as I pulled up. Was always great not getting any attitude that late at night on my way back home :) Good luck!
