I went to submit my documents today on VFS and they are asking for all the photocopies, that wont be a problem and I will get those done but do want to ask if I also have to submit photocopies of AOS package?

I forgot to ask them that, but the package I got from Mumbai consulate does say that submitting AOS package is not needed if it has already been submitted at NVC.

Tomorrow VFS will be closed, so I can't call and confirm anymore, and day after tomorrow will be the last day of my deadline to submit papers with them. Any help is appreciated.

Hi trinket,

I don't think it will be a problem because AOS package has already been submitted to NVC. One thing your petitioner can do is send you fax copy of AOS packet from US and you can print that and take it to consulate with you so just in case if CO requests it you have it on hand. My wife's visit to VFS is done but she was not asked all the copies of forms. Just passport copy, medical report, interview letter copy, two 2X2 pictures. However, I have given her entire packet of everything that I sent from here and she will take that to consulate so if they request it, she will give them copies.

My wife just took the whole package I sent her from here to the VFS and they accepted all photocopies and did not mention anything. I did not submit AOS because I did that in USA but I did send her a copy of the whole AOS package. I am just a little tense as the interview date is approaching.

Hello Everyone in India!

So if I am understanding this, I should send the copies of my AOS to my husband for the VFS? Do they need the DS230 DOC too?

Another FEDEX for me! :star:

P.S. Will they take any of the evidence of relationship at the VFS?

trinket,

Isn't the range to submit docs to VFS 10-15 working days prior to interview? Since your interview is on Nov. 20, and there are two holidays on Nov. 11 and Nov. 13. Shouldn't you have submitted the docs before Nov. 4.

If the range of days has changed, please let me know. But, that's what the packet 4 online states.

Good luck!

range is 15 days if you are submitting documents in Calcutta for Mumbai consulate, or say any other VFS office situated other than Mumbai itself. For VFS office in Mumbai itself, range is from 10 to 7 days, tomorrow 12th of November will be my 8th day prior to interview, so I am within the time range and have arranged all my papers, could have submitted today if they were open.

Anyways, can anyone tell me, why they are closed on both 11th and 13th?

Here Yeye,

From VFS website itself

Step 1: Visit the visa application centre no earlier than 10 working days and no less than 7 working days before the scheduled interview appointment. Applicant must submit all the documents to VFS as specified in the Appointment package or Packet 4 (those which pertain to your case) on any working day and pay in the Courier Fees.

Applicants submitting documents to Kolkata application centre must do so at least 15 working days in advance.

It could be because the 11th is Veteran's Day. I don't know what the 13th is. Probably an Indian Holiday. They seem to spring up when you least expect them to.

Update-- Finished VFS work just a bit ago. Took me only 10 minutes at the counter but had to wait forever (2.5 hours) to get my turn.

This all I submitted--

1)Photocopy of both interview letters, NVC and Mumbai Consulate.

2)Two 2x2 photographs

3)DS-230 forms

4)Photocopy of passport's biographic pages

5)Photocopies of -- Birth certificate, Marriage certificate, both PCC

6)Medical report.

7)394 rupees courier fee.

So that's about it. Anyone going to VFS Mumbai, make sure you do go there around 7:30am, for spousal visa it doesn't take that much of time, but there are only 2 counters which deal with IV and most of the folks out there are with F visa, since they have to submit all the originals at VFS, so it takes a lot of time for VFS officials to attend and complete each case.

They do have photocopy and photograph place within the VFS premises.

Another thing, this might only be for me or whoever lives in Andaman Islands or North Eastern states of India, VFS's data base doesn't have small cities listed with their courier services, so anyone who comes from small cities, make sure you keep a Mumbai address handy with you and you can give them that address for sending you your passport.
