how long do the immigration officers take to adjudicate a 'normal' spousal visa application? by normal, i mean all paper-work is filed in order and the backgrounds are as clean as they can be.

Overall (for K3's here on VJ) the average is 240 days to interview.

I am sorry. I just realized that I didn't phrase the question properly. I meant to ask how long does the immigration officer take to adjudicate a petition once it is in their hands? I've been told by my congressman's office that my case is with an office since Oct 28. I was wondering if this is normal or out of the ordinary?

I would also like to know that since we got an answer from senator office that our application is in the process of adjudication. When they say it's in the process of adjudication does that mean that it has been assigned to an officer?

CJ I'm guessing...honestly...that they can take as long as they want. I think it goes something like this...it gets assigned to a specific person... then depending on their load, and how much they have ahead of you and how fast they are...how picky they are... I doubt there's a real "average" for that. That's probably why we see some people get theirs approved in 2 months and others in 2 years. Luck of the draw!

Adjudication is a muli-step process. There's no way to predict how long the adjudicator may need to wait for informatioin from one step before taking the next step.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Interesting then....I guess there is no need for me rejoice the fact that my applications are in an officer's hands....pretty much meaningless information.
