So does my fiance and I have to type a declaration of how we met in person in the last two years? or just me?

So can this Original statements certifying an intent to marry be typed, signed, copyed and then e-mailed to me to be used?

Reason I ask is because she is still in South Korea and I am in the States.

Last Q.

Can the Original statements certifying an intent to marry we as simple as the examle form shown here?

Thank you.

They are infact simple. it doesnt HAVE to be typed. And it can be as simple as the example.

I wrote a one page letter explaining how we met and everything in between, but that was just me.

I think i remember both me and Edi doing one each. So im gonna say you both need to do one. If im wrong someone will correct me, but if my memory is still strong we both did one. its been 3 yrs since we did this so im fuzzy on this part.

Original statements can be simple but must be "originals" not copies, faxes or scanned and emailed.

hello Tommyboy and veepee,

Tommy ... the question about declaration of meeting in person appears on the I-129f question number 18 which is the one I think you are refering to? If this is correct I beleive it is the USC who is explaining how he/she met fiance(e) - when this question has come up in the past there is a variation in responses - some people filled that box with a few lines others have added a extra page to the form with a more detailed explaination - I am sure others will chip in with helpful hints on this.

The declaration of Intent to Marry has to be completed by both parties - and personally I used the example given here without any problems or queries, and to answer Veepee we did exactly the same ... simply inserting our details where appropraite.

You would need to send originals - this of course may cause a little delay whilst you get them but it is one less thing to worry about regarding potential RFE.

If I may suggest this link which is the guide to filling the form in and mentions how to attach extra information if required and the letter of intent to marry along with a lot of other information

Good luck with your journey

Tommyboy, Congatuations on your decision to come to Visa Journey! You will find this site to be a blessing. Welcome!

I believe answers to your questions have been adequately answered already but just to summarize;

1)Only you need to declare how you met in person in the past two years, which I believe is question 18 on the I-129f form. I typed on the form "See attached I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18: Has your Fiance(e) met and seen you". I typed up a separate attachment entitled "I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18: Has your Fiance(e) met and seen you" which was about 4 short paragraphs listing each and every occassion we had met in the past two years, as well as our original meeting. Sign and date the attached sheet (which you should do for EVERY single piece of evidence you include with the I-129f: original signature and date).

2) The intent to marry cannot be copied, scanned, faxed, etc. It must be the original signature.

3) The intent to marry can be as simple as the example form. Some couples type and sign a single intent letter, others just change the details and each sign one. Either way is acceptable, so long as its your original signaures and it clearly states your shared intent.

All the very best to you and yours.

The Petitioner has to fill out question on how we meet.

Mine was a simple two line answer on the form.
