My boy was approved for his visa today, at the Lagos consulate, Nigeria. Apparently it was an extremely short interview, and they congratulated him before he was even asked any questions! They looked over the financial information (I had a cosponsor, they didn't have a problem with it) and asked him if I had any siblings, my job title, and what I studied in Univeristy (we met in college in Kenya). And that's it. He picks up the visa next Thursday. After a monumental amount of stress getting all this together, I'm simply amazed that it all went so smoothly. I guess it helps that we first met in person while in school and lived together for over two years, so we had lots of proof of having a relationship... though they didn't actually ask to see any proof. He said people around him were being grilled, asked to provide phone records and emails and asked where their fiances went to high school... crazy. I'm not sure why we got lucky, but I'm ecstatic at how things have turned out.... now, after 11 months apart, I know I'm going to be seeing him again in just a couple weeks :) I'll update my timeline later and post a review of the Lagos consulate once I get more information from my fiance.

To all of you still waiting, hang in there and have faith. Things will work out.

03/14/2012 - Phoned USCIS again. 30 days has passed. no news. Took details again.

03/15/2012 -Received letter from USCIS - have to go to interview April 24th

04/24/2012 - Interview and ROC approved!!

05/07/2012 - Received email, card production ordered

05/11/2012 - Green card arrived

06/22/2012 - Mailed N-400 package to Phoenix/AZ Lockbox

06/26/2012 - NOA date

06/28/2012 - Check cashed

06/29/2012 - NOA arrived in the mail

07/02/2012 - Biometrics appointment letter arrived in mail
