I am currently waiting for Packet 4. My medical exam expires in about 3 weeks. If it has expired by the time I have my interview, will the Embassy allow me to take another and put my application "on hold", or will it just refuse my application and I'll have to start all over again?

It would be a good idea to do another medical, because if you don't, you will be REQUIRED to do a FULL I-693 medical in the USA when you file to adjust status.

If your interview is after the 1 year validation period for you exam you might find it in your best interest to just go ahead and get another one... In the end you will need a second one anyway... either in London or here in the US in order to get your greencard...

YMMV
