The United States Government has concluded the construction of its new Consulate General compound in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.

The new facility represents the strength and friendship between the United States and Mexico.

Public services at the current office on Ave. Lopez Mateos will cease at close of business on November 6, 2008.

Services will resume in the new building on Wednesday, November 12, 2008.

Emergency services for Americans during this time can be arranged by calling 011 52(656)327-7877.

Visa information and appointment scheduling will not be effected by the move and can be accessed in the same way as currently.

I think interviewing will run much smoother with the new building, hopefully they can get people in and out within 3 hours. I will be there the second week of December, and it would be really nice if 1 or 2 VJ members are able to share their experience in the new consulate before I go!

Follow up...

they decided to close a day early. so we will not get to have our interview even that we are in Juarez and told we would be fine. Please pay note all you people who are worried about the location of the post rather then the personal effect it has.
