I'm happy a man came into office who knows what it's like to be struggle finanacially. That makes all the difference in the world, he would connect with people who are "poor" and understand their pain.

Its a shame people are talking about sharing the wealth! Usually these imbeciles are so selfish, and racist they don't know they will one day grow old. I worked in a nursing home for a while. I would see patients with children who didn't visit them, and one part of me felt sad, but one part of me didn't. That's the way they raised them. Change(money) aint nothing, you win some you lose some. However, when you are old and you are alone. Ha! Ha!Ha! this is sharing the wealth. My time is my wealth! My health is my wealth! So, I believe Obama will try to make the open-minded people to work harder to be involved with social programs. What good is wealth and millions when you can't walk by yourself. I heard the oldest people around me talking about "everything will be free" hahaha! what ignorance. Man I have compassion for anyone, but this not wanting to share the wealth is pure greed. A kind of greed that I know will one day bite you in the ###.

tell me this darling. I paid my way through college, went on to get my masters and I make a decent income. Tell me why the hell I should have to share my wealth with some deadbeat that don't work, refuses to work and wants to stay in the system. Why should my hard earned money go to a single woman that cannot keep her legs together and keeps popping out kids she cannot afford? I worked damn hard to be where I'm at today and I believe you have the choice to make yourself what you are. I grew up with hardly a thing. My parents worked hard for what we had and taught me to be the best I can be. I'm sorry, but if you want to be a high school drop out, smoke crack, get pregnant, be irresponsible, that's your own problem, not the hard working tax payers of America.

I'm all for change. Change for the better. I have a feeling the ones that are so excited now will be the ones that will be crying when their own income goes to spread the wealth.

 makes me feel like going to college while in the military was perhaps not the best choice i made either.

I don't get it. Do you both make at least $250,000 in ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME? Seriously if you don't you won't be sharing YOUR wealth. As a matter of fact, if you don't then you're not even considered wealthy.

My husband just passes his medical boards the first part of the year. I'm currently working part-time as an instructor at the college here. It's not an illusion that we could possbile be making $200,000 a year. Why, because we've worked very hard to be where we are today. I don't see anyone spreading the wealth to help us pay off our thousands in student loans though.

Just wanted to say WOOO HOOO and to let you all know that this is big news here in Saudi Arabia. Everyone is very happy and my inlaws were all congratulating me today. Even my mother in law slapped me a high five. I think that now more than ever, this election meant something to the whole world, not just the USA. People of all nationalities here are interested, informed, and very happy about the outcome.

Now let's just hope he doesn't turn out to be some kinda whack job lol.

The magic number was $250k/year, ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME. That means after deductions.

Let's celebrate our new President and hope that we can all get together as one nation and help support the change we need!

 YES WE CAN!!!

he's the president elect, not the president. he'll be the president on 20 jan 09.

Hoping to delay the inevitable Charles?

Sharing the wealth, wow am I torn on that issue. I was a single mom for several years. I was neither lazy, nor did I open my legs to hords of men. I was married to a jerk that refused to help me to support my kids. Then to top it off I had a medical problem that forced me to change careers go back to school while working full time, and raising 4 kids myself. Tough situation, trust me. I was in quite a slump with no assistance for a long time. I pulled myself out of it, but I would have been so grateful for any assistance I could have found until I could get on my feet. Would anyone have begrudged me if I did receive assistance now that I am in a much better financial situation and a responsible taxpayer?

On the other hand I have seen people that abuse the system. So for them it is not fair for the rest that are truly in need. I don't particularly want my hard earned money to go to those people, that's for sure!

I don't know all of the policies that Obama has in place to "share the wealth", but I do hope it is spent wisely in weeding out those in real need in comparison to those that abuse it.

Whether you voted for McCain or Obama, it makes no difference now. I was very impressed with McCain's speech. This is the most I have ever been impressed with him since the entire campaign began. I hope that we can all take to heart his words of support for our president elect.

Did anyone else not like Michelle Obama's outfit last night? My mom commented on the fact that they wore red/white and black instead of red white and blue but I hadn't noticed that. I just think the dress was fugly and she's such a pretty woman it was kind of a bummer.

now i'm totally curious just what exactly is being reported there. are people there completely oblivious to what a yes man obama is for aipac? ralph nader laid into obama something fierce over the palestinian issue a couple days ago, and rightly so. it's really disappointing that nader's message hasn't been more widely heard, especially in the arab world.

I agree, his (McCain's) concession seemed to be so genuine and heartfelt and really made me not only impressed with him but also feel as though he has been misunderstood often during this campaign. It also causes me to think/believe that perhaps his statements and actions many times during the campaign were the prepared statements of his capaign and advisors and not his true thoughts and feelings. I believe that if we have been allowed to know the "real" Mc Cain, we wouldn't be celebrating the election of Mr. Obama.

If you took subzisidizes student loans, your loans themselves are an example of all of us collectively spreading the wealth to help you finance your education.

We have, and would keep had either McCain or Obama won, a progressive tax system. I regret that this election saw the watering down of a real debate over tax policy to one that appears to be about "spreading the wealth" or not (and the BS about socialism was beneath McCain). The real conversation we need is 1) what constitutes a fair taxation system and 2) what do we/should we rely on taxes to fund? Certainly people will have different answers to these question, and there is a large spectrum, but unless a candidate is calling for getting rid of taxes entirely (and neither was), they both would spread the wealth, the question is only how much, from whom and to whom.

the happy part was that Obama wins :dance::dance: and his speech given us the enlightenment, positiveness that HE CAN! WE CAN! do whatever things we want to do to have a better world to live. I look forward for the CHANGES he is going to make

About sharing your wealth: For a Muslim we have zakat and sadaqah so I will not answer any more "selfish" questions about giving your money to lazy, crack heads, etc., because I don't know what you are trying to say. A lot of lazy family members live in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and you give to them on a regular basis. When I visit those places I always see the men outside either smoking, or just hanging out. Than we wonder why nothing is getting done. Good you work, but not everyone is on drugs, neither lazy.

Barack Obama is not the kind of person who would give someone's else's wealth to a person like that. I can't believe some of the ignorant stuff that comes out of so called "educated, intelligent" peoples mouth. It's so ridicious. However, when you have an old couple who has worked all their lives and still can't live without stressing over bills. Also, what about the women who might have had her husband walk out on her? What do you say to her? I swear some people deserve to be in the situation they are in for their selfishness. When did he say "let's give your wealth to a crackhead? simply, selfish minded people. Why would you even think like this? So negative.

Michelle Obama can wear any color dress she wants. Do people have to wear uniforms and special colors now? We have "BIGGER" things to worry about then someone's dress colors. Oh, maybe the haters think she is not "American enough" LOL!

Wow! Joe Biden nor his wife wore a red, white, and blue outfit either. MCCain and Cindy didn't wear the flag either. "shaking my head"

However I agree Barack Obama is still under the wings of AIPAC, man Muslims are Jahil. It's so sad. What exactly do Arabs have to celebrate again? He might just be the lesser of the two evils, but none the less still evil. AIPAC is serious business and I pray Allah stops them wrecking havoc in the Middle East. However, I pray the Arabs stop fighting their selves with the non sense.
