Hello all, I have a question regarding the affidavit of support for the K-1 visa process. We have not yet received the instruction packet from the local embassy in Mexico, but I am just trying to get ahead of the game...

My fiance will have to present form I-134 during his interview, right? Since I will be starting graduate school, I won't be employed (unless grant money counts), so I am hoping my parents could fill out this form for us. Is this ok for the interview? I looked at the example form, but it doesn't specify anything about a co-sponsor. I appreciate the help!!!

A cosponsor would fill out the exact same form that you would if you were the sponsor - the I 134. It makes no distinctions for cosponsors.

Here's what I did:

I filled out sn I-134 and had it notarized for myself and gave a letter from my employer, bank statements, and tax transcripts.

For my brother who is my co sponsor, he also did a notarized I-134, plus tax tanscripts for the last 3 years, bank statement for the last 6 months, a letter from his emplyer, and a letter from his bank.

Good luck I hope that helps.

You and ur parents would have to fill out a form separately. One for u and one for ur parents as co-sponsors. That is all.

You should only be looking at expereinces from other K-1s in Mexico; Juarez has its own way of dioong this step (ie, don't need to wait for an interview, I-134 might not be required etc). Find the Juarez thread in the Regional Forum area to find others using your Consulate.
