So my fiance and i are trying to plan our wedding, and have decided we want to get married in vegas, it just works for us, has anyone else planned their wedding in vegas? I'm just here looking for the best packages and all that, any suggestions?

We were looking at getting married in vegas, but simply just cannot to afford to travel to vegas after moving to the US and saving for fees and time I cannot work. We thought of bringing both families to vegas and having a big wedding and reception there.well (80-100 is big for us)..if you are thinking of doing that PM me and I will let you know of a place we had thought of that had great reviews.

We got married just outside of LV at the Valley of Fire State Park. This is if you're into an outdoor wedding. Chris wasn't into being married by Elvis in a pink car.

Other than paying the $$$, there wasn't anything to do but get the marriage license the day before. My mom took us to the Clarke Country register (not far from the Strip) to get our license at 10pm the night before the wedding. My husband and I waited for maybe 5 minutes. We just needed a piece of photo ID, a forwarding address and I think $60 to pay for the license. Neat thing about LV, was $10 of the fee goes directly to the Women's Shelter for battered women.

I think for 2 limos for 3 hours, the wedding officiant, pastor, photographer, park fee and free booze the total cost was $1200. The ceremony was outdoors, nothing too fancy, we had a few tourists sit and watch too.

One good thing about a LV wedding is that it takes only a couple of weeks to get your wedding certificate if you want to get moving asap on your immigration paperwork. A secondary company offers a service for $15-25 to go to the county office registrar and pick up your certificate in person and express mail it to you. It saved us waiting about a month to get ours. It was worth the fee!

We wanted our families to be there, and since it was last minute we offered to pay for the flights and hotels. We got an AMAZING deal at The Palms. Buy one night, get one night free for $100/room. I think for 15 people (mostly roomed in couples) we paid just under $900 for 8 rooms for 2 nights.

When you check in to your hotel, if you tell the front desk that you're getting married, there are pretty quick to upgrade you to a suite. The Palms actually upgraded everyone in our party to a suite. They must have been hard up for guests.

We were thinking of Vegas and were going to use the "Little Chapel of the Flowers" it was the nicest one I could find. My daughter got married at the "Little White Wedding Chapel" it was cheesy, complete with Elvis strolling around in a powder blue tux; but that is what they chose. Good luck and best wishes.

We are also tossing around the idea of getting married in Vegas. Looks like it can be alot of fun!

I just got back from Vegas yesterday and saw many a bride. Some of the chapels were really nice (like the one inside of Mandalay Bay) but some of them are pretty shitty and I wouldn't want my memories to be of that!
