Yeah, that's what I used, essentially the envelope was put in the mail Monday evening, and got to me on Thursday.

wow, I just happen to have my p4 with me and the size of the envelope is 314mm x 394mm (12" X 15") it's the biggest one they have. I think mine was slightly different dimensions (330x390 I think) but they took it no matter, it just has to be big enough, and Xpresspost is your ONLY option. No Fedex, UPS, Purolator.

Thanks, I'll definitley do that since my interview is on a friday so if I would have to stay in montreal until monday or tuesday. the cost of the envelope will definitly be offset by not having to stay somewhere for 3 more nights. Express post does suck. they lost track of my p3 so it took, i think a few days or so longer to get there than it should have! Probably didn't make a big difference in the long run, but it caused alot of stress!

You've got 6 months to enter the country, then 3 months after you've entered to get married in. I would suggest getting married sooner during the 3 months rather than later.

I called this morning just after my last post on the way to work this morning and got through right away. And we got our date! March 30th! So excited!

Congrats!

That is excellent news. Maybe Montreal is at least scheduling out the K-1 packets they receive closer to when they receive them so we can plan for the medical exam, travel to Montreal, and moving information (although I know no one is promised a visa until after the interview), and maybe just maybe weddings that we want to have! Yeah. Still waiting for my fiance' to get his P3. Hopefully that will be quick too. I am expecting it by Feb. 11 or so.

I am just wondering if I can get some advice from people who have already had the interview and gotten their visas. What would you say is a good timeframe to book a flight after an interview. My interview is on Friday march 19th in Montreal and I was wondering what a 'safe' date would be to book the flight. I will get an expresspost envelope for the fastest shipping of my visa and paperwork but I'm wondering how fast that's been for some of you. If I had a car I would drive down the day I got it in the mail. do you think teh following weekend is too early?

My P4 took about a week or so before being sent. When the DOS tells you "they sent it", I think they meant, "they will send it"... :P

I just completely give up on the mail system up there. I sent out Mathew and his Parents christmas cards on the same day. He lives in Laval(like not even 20 minutes from Montreal) and his parents live in Rouyn-Noranda(I like to call it the North Pole). I kid you not, she got hers a week ago and he STILL hasn't received his. We had a massive snow storm that delayed me in sending them, but that's been 3 weeks ago.

He'll probably get his Packet 4 the day of his interview. Booh Canada Post.

Canada post does seem to be SLOW. I am planning to have my fiance' get the "fast envelope" which I can't remember right now (expressPost maybe) for his to be sent back in. I mailed Christmas cards from Canada to Canadians and they got them about 2 weeks later (after new years). Such is life. Mailing anything from Michigan to them is crazy. Sent a thank you not to my future mother in law and it took a month!

Any new interviews for March or April?
