My ex's cousin, did this very thing. He came over on his American wifes petition. Divorced a month after citizenship and now his new wife interviews on Thursday for a K3.

I'll let you know how that goes for him.

(update for cousin #2----10 year card, citizenship 2 months ago....guess what..........he just 2 weeks ago told HIS american wife he wants a divorce) That's 3 for 3 in that family.

This just pisses me off. Were there any signs, or was it a bed of roses until the ax day for these 3?

This is just sickening! :protest::ranting: And people come on here and whine and wonder why the "process" takes so long and why they can't be w/ their loved one.... Just look at how many of these cases USCIS has to sift through. Frankly, I'm glad they are as stringent as they are - look at the ####### that still gets through the process :ranting: :ranting: :ranting:

quite frankly it scares the crapola out of me if I think about it too hard and let my mind wander in the depths of doubt. I mean today I'd say no way my husband loves me 100%. He's so attentive and was an absolute angel to me during my operation and still is every single day. To think that someone could mask their true feelings for TEN YEARS scares the bejesus outta me!

To the OP, in my opinion you will have a hard time. The fact that you have known your new wife since childhood could almost sound like this was planned. What I find odd isn't necessarily the quickie marriage after divorce, but the fact that you've known this woman and her family. (I'll stop adding my two cents now before it gets ugly) Also, the timing on when you and your ex separated (just in time for citizenship). It sounds suspicious, but only God knows, so I'll wish you the best. However, you better cross all your T's and dot all I's.

As of fraud in general - it sux and happens with all countries. Unfortunately, most times I hear about it - it's mena and the US citizen is female. (However, the phillippines may have Mena beat - I don't know stats there). Anyway, I guess it could happen to any one of us. I'd be d@#$%% if I would let it go easily though.

1st K-1 Journey:

June 2005 - filed

October 2005 - visa interview

March 2006 - AOS packet mailed

DIVORCED

June 2007 - Interview

2008 - 10 year approval

--------

2nd K-1 Journey:

07/28/07 - AOS paperwork mailed

07/30/07 - Received at lockbox

09/18/07 - Biometrics

10/15/07 - Transferred to CSC

01/09/08 - AOS approved w/o interivew

11/01/09 - Lift conditions

11/01/10 - interview to lift conditions/10-yr card

01/01/10 - 10 year approval

DIVORCED

Amen to that, Noura! After reading about this situation and what Jackie mentioned, it makes me very suspicious of many situations. I realize that many women are being taken advantage of. I have to say that in many ways, I am very grateful that USCIS errs on the side of caution and tries to prevent this very thing from happening. How crappy that these women are probably paying for all the USCIS applications and even the nail in their own coffin with the I-400 as well.:angry:

You know? It seems like they get approved though... we wait and wait, but they DO approve "those" petitions! I guess if all the physical proof is there, what else can they do? They can put them in AP forever if they are suspisious, but in the end they will get approved. So the strategy is to wait "suspicious" cases out, I guess.

I HATE that this happens to people. It makes me want to yell "the marriage didnt work, get the hell out! go home now!"

Its b.s really. I f I moved to another country to be with my spouse and we ended up in D... I would go the heck home to my family.

Even if I had been there for years.. I would have went to that country to BE WITH MY LOVED ONE. Not to live there afterwards. GRRRRRRRRRR

I cant stand the threads from people saying.. it didnt work out, what can i do?? answer: you came here to be with your husband/wife..thats over now.. go home

ok. I got that out of my system.

sorry that was a little more aggressive than usual lol

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I agree with you. My ex-wife has remarried (VERY quickly after our divorce - within 31 or 32 DAYS - BIG red flag!) and is doing whatever it takes for her to stay in the U.S. - after I married her for love, brought her to this country, and got her Conditional Green Card. And that's when it really went downhill. Final count: Me: Bankruptcy - financial ruin after being forced to support her during separation before divorce was final - over 1 year. Divorce.

Ex-wife: Financial gain of about $45,000 to $50,000 in the past year. That would be equivalent to about 75 years' salary (at her most current rate - according to her) in her country (Russia).

I understand she's going to have a hard time getting permanent residency based on the quick (lightning) re-marry and because I filed for divorce less than one year after marriage (she had only been in the U.S. for two weeks when she physically abused me, have a police report about it). We had reconciled, but it only lasted long enough for her to get her conditional green card, then she went psycho again.

2005-08-10: Met Natalia and fell in love. Too bad she didn't.

2006-01-13: Married. Biggest mistake of my life.

2006-03-07: Began the I-130/I-129F process.

2006-11-01: POE - JFK / Home in Austin!

2006-11-15: She hits me and continues pattern of abuse.

2006-11-16: I filed for divorce.

2006-11-17: Wife is served divorce papers; she and daughter return to Russia.

2007-12-08: She returns to Russia "for the holidays" (lied to lawyers and court).

[many more ups and downs during this time period - mostly downs]

2008-03-26: File for bankruptcy.

2008-07-30: Bankruptcy finalized.

2008-08-27: Divorce final. Started piecing my life back together.

(See my timeline for details.)

Disclaimer: I'm just a guy who married for love, but she didn't! All she wants is money and a green card.

Austin, good luck and God Bless. Visa/marriage fraud happens to both women and men, and your story reminds us of that.

As promised, here are the results of my ex's cousin, Hani.

He came in 2002 on a CR!, married to Marge and got his 10 year card.

He took citizenship in 2007----

Divorced the next month and flew to jordan to marry his new wife

He came home and filed an I130---the new wife interviewed this morning and will get her shiny visa in 2 weeks.

So, it works. Get the greencard, get citizenship, new wife in 5 yrs.

Leaving this thread now as it leaves a malodorous taste in my mouth.

Good luck to the OP.
