Speaking of Cream Soda color, A&W came out for a time with this cream colored Cream Soda which was just nasty. It wasn't clear, it wasn't red, it was like a beige cream one.

Along the same line, they don't have Mr. Freezies here under that name, but there are other brand names like Otter Pops that are the same thing. The only difference in the US is they do not have the white cream soda ones, unlike Canada where they're everywhere (and my favorite)...

Um this is exactly what I got from Olde Philadelphia the other day! The shite tasting pop! It was a beige cream soda! SO RANK!

Donne moi une poptart!

I also suffer from sugar withdrawals when I don't have it regularly. I need to ween myself off again.

Do you think the clear cream soda in Quebec is the same reasoning as how the margarine is not yellow or butter coloured or whatever? Same law maybe? That's my guess.

I grew up on Crush multi-packs - Grape, Cream Soda, Orange or Rootbeer. Those were the best.

I really want to give up drinking pop, but we have free pop at work, so I always indulge.

Just because its there doesn't mean you have to drink it. Get yourself a Nalgene bottle and fill it up with water and drink that instead. Easy peasy :D

A&W Sparkling Vanilla Cream

Yes that was the evil one.

So what was the difference between the red colored and the white colored cream soda? Was it just the food coloring that was the only difference or was there more? I always thought they tasted quite different, but I can't recall any of the brand names (other then the evil one above)...

Cream soda has always been...... cream colored here. I couldn't imagine it being red or pink. That would be like when Pepsi made the regular flavored soda clear...... People just couldn't wrap their head around it, it was just too much.

Good for you Sapphire!

I used to drink like 6 cans of Pepsi a day (about 2 decades ago mind you) but I had to give it up because the sugars and caffeine was making me shaky. I dropped down to a splurge of 1 can per day for years, until I moved down here and just couldn't stomach the difference in tastes in pop here. I switched pretty much entirely to water since then, and I maybe "splurge" with a diet pop once a week, if that even. Mostly now its just the bubbles I want, not so much the pop.

I drink about 3 litres of water per day, and one cup of coffee, and maybe a cup of tea sometimes.
