I have seen what you are talking about, and I too have been waiting since 9-25-2008. What type of visa are you waiting for? I talked with CSC regarding process times and they say that 6 months is the norm for K1 and K3. I received my NOA on 10-1-08 and asked when I could see NOA2, she explained that when I see this it means that the visa was approvaled and forwarded to NVC. Meaning I may not see any movement just receive NOA2 within 6 months.

Vermont seems to be faster then California. I've read on here where people wait 4-6 months with no touches and then their NOA2 arrives.

You've just begun the wait...hopefully things will speed up as we are awaiting the CSC as well. Your timeline at the bottom gives you a possible date. I've been watching different ones and they seem to be quite accurate. GOOD LUCK!

You enter the petition number into the case status website at USCIS.GOV after you get I-129F Receipt (NOA1), your case number will also be on the back of your cashed cheque.

https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp

when your date changes from the initial date (NOA1) it means your file has been touched. It should show everytime your file has been looked at, but this is not always accurate!

We never got any notification of touches, not even after we received our NOA2 (and I was all signed up to receive them too).

So I guess even if you're not receiving touches doesn't mean your case isn't being worked on.

Yeah, our I129F petition only received its first touch on the same day it was approved, so touches don't necessarily mean anything. The theory is that whenever one of the USCIS office monkeys pull your file, your petition has the access date changed (i.e, 'touched') but it would appear that sometimes this doesn't happen, or that your petition isn't scrutinized until they work it from start to finish so your first touch is approval (or RFE).

Good luck, and don't worry!
