Hello Kevin and Leilei. Would you please explain how and from where did you get packet 3. I would also like to start preparing it because I have a really good feeling about our applications.

Thanks

Find the website for the consulate at which you will be interviewing. Somewhere on there they should have a list of PDF files for packet 3 and packet 4, for the different types of visas.

I've downloaded packet 3. I'm going to take a copy to my fiancee when I visit her next month. I'll help her to get the forms filled out, and get her started on collecting things like her police certificate, birth certificate, etc, and translations. Basically I want her reply to packet 3 to be ready to send back as soon as she gets it.

Yeah I figured I should start looking into now since the NOA2 should be within the next month - hopefully! Here goes the paperwork again...

I've started getting some of my stuff together too for the next stage. We are hoping not to get approved to quickly....dave still hasn't found a job :( BUT....BUT! I'm still getting things together with a positive outlook on the whole thing. Police Certificate application is going off on Thursday and I applied for my birth certificate before we started the process....a little strangely i had my ex fiance, who is a civil servant, sign the back of my photo's and declare who I was for the police cert. Luckily he was cool about doing it!

Yeah, they were laying off a bunch of folks at Richie's job so he quickly got a new job with an insurance company which he started doing training today. That really worried me since our NOA2 was approaching and he was off work for almost 3 weeks!! Im not sure if his transition will affect the paperwork or anything....I still need to look into it..I hope Dave finds a job soon ..its not a good feeling especially when you need to rely on his proof of income...Wow, glad it worked out with your ex signing it for you  !

Thanks!

Ok, I posted this topic but ive only got one response and I want to see what you guys think:

We're confused with the whole affidavit of support issue and after reading the guides and searching for similar topics, still having no luck. We are in the process of the K1 visa and awaiting our NOA2. My fiance (the petitioner) was making above poverty level for the last three years however was laid off recently. He JUST found a new job but he wont be receiving a steady income until he gets all the necessary licenses required for his job. I am aware that he will still need to fill in an affidavit of support however, for Q7: "I am employed as or engaged in the business of ____ with ___ ...I derive an annual income of ____" will he leave this blank even though he HAD a job and had an income?

My understanding is that he will need a co-sponsor and was wondering if:

- the co-sponsor will need to complete the same I-134 in addition to the petitioner's?

- the co-sponsor will be his mother, who has filed joint taxes with his step father and have a young daughter. The mother earns less than the step father but will meet the poverty level for 3 or 4 people (will need to double check this). Will the mother (co-sponsor) need to list everyone in her household (stepfather, daughter, petitioner) as her dependents on Q8: "The following persons are dependent upon me for support" even though the step father is not dependent on the wife and the petitioner is partially dependent? Im aware that for the daughter, she will check "partially dependent".

Sorry to sound so complicated here but its just that the co-sponsor always files joint taxes with her husband and was unsure of how they would fill in the affidavit of Support.

Remember how we couldnt check our case online? well I decided to try it just for the hell of it again today and as usual, I was expecting an error message when I had to literally do a double take when I read this:

Receipt Number: EACXXXXXXXXXX

Application Type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Current Status: Approval notice sent.

On February 23, 2009, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR

FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the

notice, call customer service.

Woohooo!!! We finally got our NOA2!!!

Now in addition to Richie's employment dilema....I was wondering if this is going to affect my visit to the states next week??? I know I was fine going thru POE last November after receiving the NOA1..but unsure now that there's an actual approval on the system???
