I just got off the phone with a NVC operator. I am finding out that I am getting an RFE for my I864 as well as the DS-230's. I could puke-- more wasted time playing this bureaucratic game of theirs......

First question is for the I-864 they are telling me part 2 and 3 are messed up. I listed my husband as the principal immigrant and the two kids below in part 3. Then they tell me part 5 is wrong.... but if I listed all three of them and entered in that I am married that gives me a household of 8... there are only 7 of us. I entered in the number I put in earlier on line 10 of part 3 and left the " are you married currently " slot empty. Then I guess on part 8 they didn't like that my signature/form was a photocopy- even though it clearly says in the instructions that it is perfectly fine for me to submit photcopies of the original one. I know this is long and confusing- maybe it will make more sense to me when I get the RFE in the mail--- and can actually look at it in writing.

DS230- they tell me that #20 and #21A aren't filled in right.... we made sure that it said PRESENT for the current address --- 21 A says to list who will be coming and I listed the kids there on hubby's and on the kids listed the sibling and hubby ... then they said that 11 wasn't filled in right-- that one says "11. Address in the United States where you want your Permanent

Resident Card (Green Card) mailed, if different from address in item #10 " ......... hubby didn't fill it in but stated something like "same as #10"....

On the kids - and I really screwed up here-- I enclosed all of the original paperwork (custody, letter from their mother stating she was aware that they were coming to the states etc) with Adrian's paperwork and didn't make copies for the kids- although all of this was combined into one nice notebook .... the operator said she would note that that documentation was with Adrian's things....

Please please please... I need some input- I really need this nightmare to be over with. I thought I read all the forums and got every piece of information available to insure that the paperwork was done correctly--- even so, looks like it's still messed up and all I can think about is the time we are losing..... someone please tell me how to fill in this form the right way.... I don't know what they want.

Also- can someone tell me - when I submit the RFE information- do I have to fill out another form in it's entirety and send ? and that means getting the kids and my hubby to sign the paperwork all over again ?

Address in the United States where you want your Permanent

Resident Card (Green Card) mailed, if different from address in item #10 " ......... hubby didn't fill it in but stated something like "same as #10"....

does this mean, you have to really write the address where you want your GC to be mailed?

so you won't get RFE?

I have no clue :( I'm sorry...... wish I knew too. Maybe it's best just to fill out the address twice. Following the directions didn't seem to work - at least not on that item.

Don't blame yourself. The whole process is suck. The paper work is set up for a failure. Even though, you are very careful, a mistake is found

For your I-864, check if you need to file each I-864W for each kid. Otherwise, you get an RFE again

Wait for the RFE letter comes. Take time to do it right. Email me if you need my sample form in which I filed for my wife & my little son. Well, I got RFE too but not in the form. I miss I-864W form for my kid.

The election is coming. I wish there is candidate willing to simplying this whole immigration process so I can vote for him/her.

Good luck.
