McCain begs Russians for campaign contributions

The Russian mission to the UN in New York says it has turned down a request from John McCain to help fund his presidential campaign.

Ambassador to the UN Vitaly Churkin and others received standard mail-outs asking them to help "stop the Democrats from seizing control of Washington".

It was apparently a computer error at the McCain campaign, but a pretty funny one. Sorta like calling your ex-girlfriend a ho-bag and then asking if she wouldn't mind lending you $20 'til payday.

Relax Blues, this wasn't political commentary. I just thought it was funny, and it would have been funny no matter which candidate it happened to. I absolutely don't believe that McCain seriously intended to solicit money from Russia, and I take him at his word that it was a glitch.

As for the Hamas funds, Obama said he returned the funds and Hamas (who we all know would never lie for political points) said he didn't. I think Obama would have to be insane not to return those funds, especially since he's rolling in more money than he knows what to do with. But it would be an easy thing for the Federal Elections Commission to check, so I really don't see the controversy here.
