Hi Everybody, I'm so happy and grinning from ear to ear :D because my Fiance arrived on Friday 10/17. I still feel like it's a dream until I see him still lying there next to me in the morning. He is a bit home sick, but very happy to be here with me and anxious to work! While I was out working my oncall job on Saturday, he cleaned the house, sweapt the leaves off the patio, and cooked dinner. Today he washed both of my vehicles. He likes to be doing something and I don't think he's not used to being alone all day due to his big family and lots of friends in JA. Hopefully we will be able to find him some sort of a gig to keep him busy and give him a little cash.

He wants to apply for a social security card and drivers license. Does anyone know when you can apply for your SS card? can you apply now, or do you have to wait until you recieve your green card or EAD? I'm guessing you can apply for a DL anytime.

....when it hurts to look back and you're scared to look ahead LOOK beside you and I'll be there.....

There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore... and who always will.

So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

Congratulations to you both!!! Hopefully he'll adapt little by little until he feels this is his new home. It's a huge shock for them which is understandable.

He can apply for his SS number any time he wants up until two weeks before his I-94 expires. If he does it after that, he will have to wait for at least his EAD card. And as for his DL, every state is different. You should call your local DMV office to find out what they need, in most places they need to see either his EAD or green card.

Good luck with everything and best wishes!

Diana

Congrats Gooden.

Homesick already?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
