 Hello, All--I received the list of senators who sit on the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, Refugees, & Border Security (oversight committee for USCIS). They monitor Homeland Security and all immigration processes. Moreover, the committee makes recommendations for USCIS improvements and creates legislation for new immigration laws. This committee is chaired by the phenomenal Senator Ted Kennedy - D (Mass), who has been in the US Senate nearly 50 yrs and who is pro-immigration. See below the entire list. Maybe your state's senator is on this committee.

Unfortunately, I did not have time to finish the letters at work today, so I'll complete them later today. Then, I'll upload both letters (one for K-1/K-3 & one for AP) for all Vjers who want to forward them to the 9 members of this US Senate Subcommittee. We need to send a hard copy to each member. Further instructions will be provided later today. See the list. These members will receive a copy of the letter from each of us. We will request that the committee reviews the long delays and contacts VSC, especially. Also, we will request that they stop giving a generic response to our inquiries via phone ("within our normal processing time..."). Remember that you will still have to add your own US Senator to this list if he or she is not on this subcommittee b/c it's simple protocol/respect. All the best--Amor1

Senator Ted Kennedy (Mass) - Chair

Joe Biden (Delaware) **Sen Barack Obama's running mate (Vice President Candidate)

Diane Feinstein (California) - This explains CSC quick processing. Sen Feinstein has a reputation for being very tough, hard working, and dedicated to her constituents; she's been in the Senate for a long time, too.

Chuck Schumer (New York)

####### Durbin (Illinois)

John Cornyn (Texas)

Chuck Grassley (Iowa)

Jon Kyl (Arizona)

Jeff Sessions (Alabama)

Thanks! MM you seriously rock!

I just added someone who filed in 06 and is still in AP, to the spreadsheet.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Well...while John Cornyn is on the list his office is as useless as any other office out there. His solution to immigration problem is to install more lanes at the airport because it's bad for people who received visas to stand in line at the US border...somehow that makes US look bad (and not all the other policies).

I'd like to wish you luck, I know that I've mailed John Cornyn's office and got the canned reply. The liason WAS nice enough to converse with me over email, but it was clear from the beginning that they were following the USCIS policy on wait times and they had no way to change it.

Lisa, thanks! I hope you saw the letter; I posted it yesterday. Hopefully, all of us will receive a response or several in a few weeks. All of my letters were hand-delivered to the Post Office today. I will try to be optimistic, esp w/the new time lines. All the best--Amor1

I'm sorry to hear that, but perhaps a group effort will make a difference. Reading 100 letters that say the same thing will open somebody's eyes to this injustice, I believe. Did you see the letter? I posted it yesterday and mailed my copies this morning. All the best--Amor1

Hi, Jaqui. It's the same for me, so you can use this letter, too. I posted it yesterday. Hopefully, it will make a difference. All the best--Amor1
