Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

The website says they do not sell them there. We're wondering where the closest postal service is to the office. We used the website, but not very familiar with the area. It looks like COMPLEXE DESJARDIN is the closest. We're afraid he won't have enough time before the interview and wonder how diccult it may make things if he waited till after the interview.

Desjardin Complex is about 2 or 3 blocks down from the Consulate. Exiting the Consulate turn left on Rene' Lesveque Blvd. go down over the small hill Desjardin Place is on the left as you walk the 3 blocks. There's a shopping mall inside there

There is a shoppers drug mart on the corner from the consulate with a post office in it, I bought mine there the morning of my interview. They actually get a lot of people going there to get the envelopes for immigration purposes. Its open early enough that you'd have time to get it and go to the interview and it's a lot closer too.

If you can't get the envelope before the interview and have to get it after, be sure they give you a pass at the Consulate before you leave. It'll make you re-entry in the Consulate trouble free so you can deposit the envelope.

Best of luck at the interview! (F) Let us know how it goes!

I ended up getting the envelope at the Shoppers Drug Mart (Frenchy version) down the street from the consulate. They gave me the wrong size so I had to go back and get the propery size during the interview. What a pain that was. Oh well atleast now it's all over till the AOS
