Security Checks

Ok, right before the IMBRA law halted processing I had been touched 3 times in a short period of time. Calling USCIS they said nothing about security checks in the week after that 3rd touch.

I wish someone would tell me what are the odds of being sent to security check after being touched a bunch of times, in VSC in your 30th day since NOA1? Could that mean I was close to a NOA2 and thus beyond the checks?

Is it true that only a minority of couples end up in security check hell?

Yes Laura only a minority ended up in 'security check hell' - in the past.

I have wondered how extensive the new IMBRA checks will be - if they are anything like the old checks that delayed petitions for such a long time or if they will be something more abbreviated.

So - I don't think we can compare apples to apples here, as we obviously don't know the IMBRA variable.

I just don't really see how anyone here could really tell you the odds of something like that, but maybe I am wrong. Unfortunately this is the beginning of IMBRA so I think things will be a little more disorganized than normal for a while. I wish I could tell you!!! Good luck and I hope things move right along.

I was asking more in terms of the regular old checks, not with IMBRA.

Would the chances of our case being cleared out already be great without the IMBRA?

Well, according to Vermont's past reputation, I would say yes but who really knows. Unfortunately that doesnt' change anything now since IMBRA is already affecting your case. I'm really sorry that this has happened to you and I wish you the best.

Under normal circumstances and seeing it is VSC, yes, 30 days would seem long for a NOA2.

But, now things are different, so we have nothing to judge it by for precedent.

Yeah, it really sucks not knowing and just waiting to read or hear something. If at least we could be using this time to gather up any information that they would/might want, fill out a new questionnaire, or order the background checks. But we just don't know what it is that they will want, so we wait.

Once it breaks free, it's really going to be a mad dash all at once, which will in turn create even more backlogs for all of us. All of the thousands of updates coming in all at once at the same time.

But no email, just the touch with 0 (zero) information. So I am as clueless as anyone. It could mean anything at this point. But it does mean that someone is looking at my petition and entering some information, so that is good. Maybe it is a start after all to this process. If I hear anything, you all will know too.

the old checks like what we experiance on AR/AP last

19 days - 2 years. I hope one day they make these checks leaning more towards 19 days or less. < fat chance >
