Hi all.

Was checking Igor's and saw more people got approved yesterday as well! Good on all of you! moving right along I see.. I was actually wondering today, what are VSC working hours? anybody know?

http://cse.ssl.berkeley.edu/igor/vjdata/stats.aspx

There was a Q&A session with a adjudicator where this was asked. It's a few years old though.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...dicator-q-and-a

Q What kind of hours do the service centers run? With so many applications I can imagine working a long 9am to 6pm day....

Bear in mind this was 4 years ago... It might have changed. At that time they offered a couple different options. First, if your performance was good and you were experienced enough you could apply to "work from home" or "telecommute", this was of course the favorite. This was largely brought about by a shortage of space in the building. The NSC has since moved to a brand new facility that alleviated the space crisis we faced at that time. (But I'm sure that if they eliminated the work from home program the union might have had something to say about it so it’s a fair bet Adjudicators still have this nice option.)

Secondly there was a liberal "flex-time" schedule. Again one of the reasons was the space shortage but that wasn't it entirely. The agency was very family friendly to its employees and tried to keep people happy and make for a nice place to work. There was a lot of stress involved. Offering a flex schedule was one available option to folks.

Basically, as a CIS employee, you could work anytime from 0630 till 6PM as long as your schedule was approved by your boss and you got your 8 hours in.

Because of the amount of work, the agency also used contract services for a lot of the other various non-adjudicating type work. If I recall, the center was a 24/7 operation except for the CIS employees. A lot of the staging and processing of the work we accomplished during the day was done by the contractor at night.

I also think card production had CIS employees on the night shift back then. Hope that answers your question. Cheers.D.

I did read in the August filers thread that they work Saturdays.

I think it's great that we are finally seeing Oct approvals.

I read the posts from the former adjudicator that mention how the applications get boxed up and it's of luck of the draw as to when the actually get to them. I know it's the system, but now that they are looking at us . . .

Is it just me, or is it getting harder to stay calm?

I've been slightly excitable the last couple days but I think that's because Tom will be here in less than two weeks and I've only three days at work next week.

Nope, it's not just you!!!!! I am literally checking this site every 10 minutes and just hoping for more movement!! I'm so excited that Aug & Sept are both almost done - Aug @ about 75% and Sept @ about 65%, and due to people not updating their timelines and all they usually only get to about 90%. It truly is exciting!

I have a question about the interview thing.

As you guys know we got our NOA2 about a week ago. My sweetie has a young daughter, whom I listed on the petition. I provided birth certificate copies and information about her daughter. The father of the daughter, my sweetie's ex-husband has been out of the picture for a number of years now since their divorce. He hasn't paid any of the child support he was supposed to. He has been completely absent from her daughters life. Marina and I are under the impression that when the interview comes, we are required to have a document from the ex-husband that allows her daughter to leave the country. The problem is, he's an unreliable drunk and is unlikely to get off his #### and do the document. He has stated he'd do it before, but then went back on it and ended up disappearing for a few months only to turn up 1000km away and drunk. What can we do? Do we even need this document? Please assist. I know this isn't really the place for it, but this forum is all I've ever really read much on this site and the only people I really consider much in the same boat as me. Everyday I'm reading this thread hoping all of you will get your NOA2's post-haste.

Thanks,

-Rich

Awesome! Grats on the approvals!

So are you planning for the child to accompany you when you depart for the United States or will the child follow later? The child will be on a K2 visa. You will be needing your devorce papers to make sure the father is out of the picture.

Does the child have a passort? Is the child carrying the fathers last name or yours?

PM me for any AP or AR relating to the NBI
