Medical Exam/Drug Use

I do not recommend lying only because I have NO idea if they can tell if your husband has used drugs or not. However, the wait times vary case to case from what I can tell. It could be soon but it could still be a few months. It seems that USCIS has no rhyme or reason to their processing

two recognized tests:

Blood test - residuals remain but a few weeks

Hair test - residuals remain a few months

Marijuana use can be detected with a blood test for about 3 months, if used frequently.

The hair test can go back at least 1 year

Cocaine use cannot be detected after about 10 days with a blood test.

My question would be, are you sure it is a 5 year old thing and not more recent? Because if there's any chance that he's still using, you're taking a huge risk on a lot of levels, not just immigration.

I'm not anti-drug or anything, but I do know that drug use generally isn't a great thing especially when there are big issues like moving countries involved.

Just say no.

My wife had the medical exam/interview in CDJ back in February and she said they didnt even ask her so chances are the question might not even come up. If they do ask him about it and he says no it would be physically impossible to prove he is lying. Saying you did drugs at any point is one of the surefire ways to get denied, especially at that embassy.

Good luck in Juarez and remember just say NO.

Thanks for everyone's responses! I appreciate everyone

excuse my gesture, but your husband would be completely out of his mind to admit that he did marijuana 5 years ago....5 years ago is histrory that you dont want to even keep in your mind during your immigration process. if he doesnt want to spend his life in the US with you, have him admit to it...

my answer: NO dont admit something stupid like this that happened when he was young unless he wants to be banned entry to the US. people do stupid things when they are young and that doesnt neccessarily make them a bad person or an addict.
