Hello, all!

Is there anyway to know if the foreign embassy has received your case?

Mine is at Kiev, Ukraine.

How long does it usually takes for it to go through the mailing ordeal from NVC? Are there a lot of cases when the paperwork was lost?

Sorry, I know, I ask too many questions. So far, this site has been a great help for me! Thank you all!

Thank you.

The NVC usually doesn't take too long to send petitions to the consulates/embassies. Give it a few days and then try e-mailing the consulate for packet 3. Write an e-mail including your case number and A#. If they say your petition hasn't arrived yet, try again a few days after. How long have you been waiting for it to arrive though? If it's been only a week or so since you received the notice from the NVC that everything will be sent to Kiev, don't panic yet! Your stuff is probably not lost!

I didn't know that you can e-mail the embassy with the request for packet #3. Do you know who should do this, my fiance, or myself? He should be the one receiving the packet 3, right?

Our petition was sent to the embassy on a Tuesday. I gave it 4 days to get there and on the 5th day Hachemi emailed the embassy in Algiers. We got the email address from their website. On monday they replied and told us our petition had arrived on Sunday and Hachemi would be getting a packet and as soon as he got his documents ready to call the embassy and make an interview appointment. We are still waiting for the package. Should be received anyday now, Inshaallah.

Either of you can e-mail and ask for it. In our case, I e-mailed and asked for packet 3 to be sent to me via e-mail AND mailed to my fiance's mailing address as written on the petition. They had no problem with this at all. Just be sure you include your case number and A# in the e-mail so they know how to reference your case.

Good luck!

You're very welcome! If they've received your case, you should have no problem getting Packet 3. If I hadn't read on VJ that I could e-mail the consulate for Packet 3 (or that there was such as thing as Packet 3 at all!) I'd probably still be waiting for it lol

I e-mailed Ukrainian Embassy at Kiev yesterday (the 30st of May) and they replyed today, informing me that our case was approved, Packet #3 was sent to my fiance on May 25th and that I should feel free to ask them any questions I have. :)

Thank you, guys, for the info.

And I hope that Moscow Embassy will work as fast as the one in Kiev. :)
