I'm sorry to hear about your worries Laura. Catherine and I just had a big scare too and I'm still worried about how solid my work's going to be.

Here are some big *HUGS* for you both! In the end it will all work out. You're still married, right?

Sorry to hear about the bad new Laura.

Hopefully things will work out ok. Sounds like you two have everything under control. Glad to hear you have savings to help you out, and in-laws willing to sponsor (if you end up needing that!)

In this day, people could learn a lot from you two, most (us included!) don't really have much saved, and would be in a bit of a bind if something like this happened.

I'm thankful, that both myself and John work in an industry that hasn't been affected much by the economy.

Good luck with everything! :)

Thank you again, everyone.

Your words mean the world to me.

Nick came home, I made him a big breakfast and we just cuddled on the couch and talked about our future.

We will be okay.

I'm relieved about the AOS situation and hopefully we'll get by without an interview.

I ordered Nick a big basket of chocolate covered fruit for his birthday (had to call and get them to deliver to the house instead of at his job) and it came about 1/2 an hour ago. That cheered him up a bit.

I'm very lucky to have him and I'm so so proud of his strength right now.

Thank you again guys...we'll make it.

The bright side: For the time being you won't be home alone. You guys do have that time to just be together and you will be there to support him while he finds a new job.

Laura - my heart goes out to you both. It's a sad situation. You have every right to panic and be concerned about the process. As others have said, I'm sure Nick will find himself a new job and you are going to be right there to support him

You are both strong people and will see this rough patch through together. That's what counts - together.

(((((((((( hugs )))))))))) I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Thank you.

Chill out? Okay...I'll get right on that. Sorry, like 20 people viewed this and said nothing...I'm upset...can you blame me???

I understand that we are all here to support each other, but you have to give people some time to respond at 8am in the morning. I just though it was rude of you to expect people to comment and then get upset about it.

We all understand you are upset. I felt you just made me feel like a jerk because I have to work and can't always comment on every one's post.

There are going to be a lot of bumps in this process. I'm sure Nick will get a new job before your interview date. I really wouldn't be too concerned about something that hasn't impacted you guys yet. So in saying chill out, I meant exactly that.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Awww. You poor thing. (F) You really must have been panicking to think that your Canadian pals had abandoned you. You forgot you were on the interwebz and that millions of people are out there clicking and pointing.... not just VJers. ;)

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles, Laura, but happy to hear you're sorting through them. Just think...... This time next year you'll be saying "Remember last year's birthday?" I know it's hard to fathom now, but things always seem to fall into place and turn out for the best. Hang in there, Laura and Nick. Hugs to you both.

Life.

The eternal roller coaster.

Sorry to hear about your news Laura.

Do wish your partner a happy birthday regardless of this "bad" news from me as well.

Now that you will have some time to spend together without the pulls of time constraints from work, and you are not desperate for money, then ENJOY that gift of time.

Lucky you two!

I would not worry about notifying USCIS immediately or anything.

Wait a bit.

Do I know anything for sure?

Nah...I just get these feelings...

I hope you do not worry too much.

Worry is an energy drainer and then there is nothing left to manifest/create what you want.

Draw a picture of your lives together and make your wishes.

Have fun.

Is there any other kind of fairy???

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
