We were going to a German restaurant 'cause they have something resembling perogies, but it was closed.

So we had Mexican for Thanksgiving and DQ blizzards for dessert! :)

I am so happy and proud of myself!! This was my first time ever doing a turkey and it turned out amazing!! I did it in a plastic bag- it was so moist and delicious. There is not one bit of meat left.

I phoned my mom and asked how her turkey was- she said "it's a dried up piece of sh!t" Next time she will try the bag.

I think those cooking bags are excellent

Good morning, everyone!

It's 5.30 AM for us here in California and I've been up since 4 AM. All a part of being knocked up, eh!

I just want to say I hope you all have a great extra day off for those who work. It's the first holiday of the season and isn't it wonderful how the air smells different already?

I wish you all a very wonderful week and to those making a turkey dinner, I hope it tastes good! I remember how turkey tastes like...mmm...Well, I think I will have Japanese for dinner. :P

I remember we used to cross the border to the USA early in the morning for the Columbus Day sales. Hehe.

Happy Thanksgiving, eh! EH!

my father-in-law cooked a turkey in one of those bags alast year.. it came out really good...

I chatted with one of my brothers last night and he said they had lasagna and KD for Thanksgiving  it probably has something to do with my sister-in-law.. she has a million Thanksgivings she goes to and prolly said something to my mom about not wanting another turkey :P

I did Cornish hen. Very easy and everyone (and when I say 'everyone' I mean hubby and me), gets their own little bird. Tastes just like chicken and is great with wild rice.

Dinner was a total success.

I was very proud of myself.

Cooking for your inlaws for the first time is kind of nerve-wracking but I did it!!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving!

We did cornish hen as well! I made cornbread stuffing to go with it (Joe's favourite and very Southern), scalloped potatoes, sauteed eggplant (from the garden), cranberry sauce and wine:-). It was nice:-). We have much for which to be thankful. Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.

*sigh* my parents just sent me pictures of this weekend -- they went and spent Thanksgiving with my brother and his family (complete with our new nephew Elias born two weeks ago). Can't wait to see them all at Christmas!!

Holidays always get to me.
