CDs yes it's ok so long as it's your own personal stuff and not pirated. Coconut candies, to be safe, put those in your luggage and be very sure you declare it for customs check or else it could cause trouble if you don't declare food items. Good luck!

No pirated stuff. You can be denied entry because of that. Candies are ok. But do note that meat and fish products such as chicaron, daing are not allowed even if sealed.

My husband never had a problem bringing his CD/DVD burned album back and forth to the States. as in it

it's like 3 inches think album. I just don't know if they are more stricter for Filipinos going to the States and regarding sweets, yeah, you can bring a lot of them. My husband brought

Pili Nuts, sweetened Peanuts, rice cookies and barquillo, he said he'll eat those in the entire trip and also for my MIL.Never had a problem too with that.

personally, as long as u burn it yourself and without the intention re-producing (selling) then its ok (personal use kasi)... although, we are not sure about the minds of the immigration officer di ba?... if its ok for them or not, that, im not sure of... besides, its just so easy to burn stuff here... a bunch of websites that offers free downloadable music... i believe even photo copy from a published book is a no no also...

as for candies/sweets i brought a lot of goldilocks, dried mango, dried banana and candies during my last visit in phil hehehe... basta naka balot na from the factory at hindi fresh

happy trip!!! God bless!!!

Well the bagoong i brought back was home-made packed in a tupperware type container. I dont think that it would have been allowed in if it had been discovered. And for sure that calamansi was way off limits. You cant find it here though, does anyone know if real calamansi can be purchased at any markets in Los Angeles? I still have some seeds maybe ill try growing a tree.

We looked for calamansi everywhere when my wife 1st got here (I looked before she got here coz I missed it). We weren't able to find anywhere in the US that had it. Closest thing we have found is frozen calamansi juice which is the next best thing we think. I'm stashing some calamansi in our suitcase next time we come back from the Phils.

I did and got thru but it was only enough to last a few weeks. I think after my wife and son are here and we're settled im going to try to grow a tree. It will probably take quite awhile for it to become mature but it be worth it. I think i might smuggle some of the lil red onion seeds this time. I like the taste of the lil red onions but havent been able to find those either.

i remember some of my relatives during the (1990's) would bring in homemade stuff by my grandparents like bagoong, atsara, burong isda, other smelly stuff they put it in big powder milk cans and seal it with a soldering gun.

My aunt has a calamansi plant that grows real calamansi in rockaway,NJ i asked her where she got it and said she bought it years back at NYC chinatown. When i was there i saw a guy selling calamansi plants, sampaguita and rosal at chinatown. i bought the plants (sampaguita and rosal only) and brought it with me to baltimore. i transfered it to a bigger pot and left it outside the house coz it was summer then but now my fiance told me that the plants are again inside the house coz its getting cold already and they are bigger also and still with flowers. yes those plants like calamansi would grow there and the vendor told me it came from florida. The calamansi was really cute and the fruit itself is a little bigger compared to the ones i see in manila.
