hi

i filed the n400 last week and my check has been cashed

can i register now on the online uscis with my a# or

do need to wait for the fingerprint appointmen letter

and register with the case # on the letter?

thank you

You can check the returned check from USCIS to find the case number.

Usually it is written in front, or back.

Then they tend to omit 0 (zero) beween alphabetic characters and numbers, so you may need to add 0 (zero) between those to make up 13 digits.

With the case number for your portfolio, you can register yourself, and add the case number for portfolio.

i found a number on the back stamped with ESC and 10 numbers but as i typed them in

the system say its not a valid #

there is another # on the front apparently ESC with 6 additional numbers but they dont work

as well even if i add zero

is ESC the code for n400?

Probably # in front will be the one.

ESC stands for Estern Service Center.

If it is ESC123456, it may be ESC*000123456. You have to add "*" character after ESC, too. ^^

But for N400, USCIS doesn't update online status query system except initial "Case received and pending" for most cases.

So probably it is meaningless.

Ha, can you even read that LIN number? Whoever wrote that on our check was in a hurry.

Here is the format:

LIN*001223xxx, not sure why I am keeping those last three last numbers a secret, only thing you will find out is that they received our application and are processing, but we knew that when they cashed our check, and really knew that when we received the receipt notice in the mail along with yet another biometrics appointment. Wife has been a USC for over a month now, but the online status have never been updated since they posted that receipt notice. According to that, we are still waiting.

Should look up wife's receipt number on her I-485 about five years ago, to learn how that is progressing. Probably would say the same thing, we received your application for AOS and that will be the end of it.

Yet, the USCIS, your congressman, and that ombudsman character that doesn't do anything all go by that status.
