Ok so we just sent in the K1 visa and I am due at the end of April 2009....I have been trying to find information on when the baby is born in Canada does it need just a passport to cross with me when the K1 is approved? and what happens if the K1 is approved and I am still waiting on the birth certificate in order to get the passport?? it takes up to 4 months to get the birth certificate and they give you 90 days to cross....my fiancee called for some information and was given the American consulates number where nobody would tell him anything!!

He was told by USCIS if the baby is born while its being processed before it is approved then they can add the baby to the application?

And my other question is I wont be able to do the xray so will they not issue the visa until I can??

Where did you get the 90 days figure from???

K-1 is valid for 6 months after it is approved, you have 6 months to use it, and you then get 90 days to marry in the USA.

If the baby has a US citizen as a parent, it wont need a visa to enter the USA, simply register the birth at a US consulate and apply for a US passport, the child will then be a US citizen.

Birth Certificate is definately required to report the birth. Is there difficulty obtaining a BC where you live? (In Germany, for example, it's available pretty much right away - the hospitol records it.)

You can have your Xray during your 2nd/3rd trimester, they will put an abdominal shield around you to protect the baby. It will not have any affect on your baby on that time and with the shield.

03-11-2009 - Notice Date

03-25-2009 - Case transferred to CSC

05-05-2009 - GC, EAD card, AP received. :D

Consulate mentions "Statement of Live Birth"

Child's long-version birth certificate, (in Ontario, the Statement of Live Birth, http://www.cbs.gov.on.ca/mcbs/english/649QWH.htm) stating the child's full name, both parents' names, date/place of birth, and date of registration;

here we go

The medical examination

The medical examination consists of a chest X-ray and blood test, which includes testing for HIV infection (AIDS) and venereal disease. The blood test and X-ray are generally not required of persons under the age of 15 on the date of the appointment. Pregnant women may forgo the X-ray if they so wish. However, they will be required to have an X-ray in the United States after the birth of the child.

On the day of the medical examination, the physician will be required to verify that the immigrant visa applicant has met the vaccination requirement, or that it is medically inappropriate for the applicant to receive one or more of the following vaccinations: Mumps; Measles; Rubella; Polio; Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids; Pertussis, Influenza Type B (HIB), Hepatitis B, Varicella, Pneumococcal, Influenza, Rotavirus; Hepatitis A; Meningococcal MCV and Human Papilloma Virus.

Note: Fiance(e), ), Kii and V visa applicants will not be required to meet the vaccination requirements at the time of the visa interview. They will however be required to meet the requirements at the time they apply for an adjustment of status with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

this i copy and pasted from this page on the uk embassy website on this page http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/medexam.html . i assume that what applies to us applies to you too.
