:ot: A friend of mine recently received a family based visa. She had been given a big brown envelope (not the X-ray) which she was told not to open. Does any one know what's inside?

From the VJ FAQ:

4.5)...Just what is inside that sealed envelope anyway?

A.. Someone had asked me about the contents of the envelope from the consulate. It contained all the original I-129F documents, the K-1 forms which I completed for the consulate, our photos, birth and divorce certificates, my medical report, and the affidavit of support.

A.. Just thought in case anyone is interested the mysterious brown envelope is all the documents that the US Citizen submitted for the K-1 and all of the K-1's physical and approval from the embassy. Ours was not sealed so we had to take a peek at it.

We should start a yardie private eye firm. We are really good at finding out just about anything.

Marlita I believe you would either be approved pending your medical results or they might have to reschedule you for a new interview. I am guessing it will be up to the discretion of the officer. If you had your medical but the results weren't there I would think they would still let you interview but if you hadn't even had the medical yet...hmmm I don't know. I can see them raising a fuss over it.

Have trouble with the medical? :(

He may not get his results back in time. There is a holiday on Monday 10/20 so they are closed, so friday 10/17 is the latest date, and thats right around the corner. Now I wish they did reschedule the date for the 24th or even the week later. How can I get them to do this?
