Hi,

I have a friend who turned in her N-400 application to TSC (Texas Service Center) earlier this month.

She receoved NOA1 on Friday with the Case No starts with "SSC*...." instead of "TSC*...." and no biometric date was given in this NOA1 as others have indicated.

What happens? Anyone experienced similar problems, please share your experience.

Thank you very much.

I wouldn't worry about it.

SSC stands for Southern Service Center, which is located in Texas.

I don't know whether TSC is changing to SSC, or SSC is another facility in Texas.

But as long as she received NOA1, at least USCIS have N400 file in their system.

Starting 10/14/2008 there will be no such TSC, CSC, NSC and VSC for N-400. two lockboxes are opened to receive N-400 (TX and AR). the cases will be transfered to NBC or NBS(someting like that not sure but the ofiice is loacted in state of MO)) after the initial processing (check and signature). NBC will then transfer these cases to the loacl office.

You're right about NBC...

My friend told me it said your case was sent to USCIS's National Business Center (NBC) but this would not delay the processing.

How about Biometrics Date on the first NOA1? Many others have got that info on their first NOA1.

THanks.

Actually it is stand for National Benefit Center, or something like that.

USCIS is trying to centraliization for N400 processing.

So from now on, all N400 will be sent and process here initially, then distributed to each District Office accordingly.

The biometrics date does not come on the NOA1. There is a separate biometrics letter that is sent out. Sometimes it will arrive at the same time as the NOA1 and sometimes it won't.
