Hi,

I just ran across your site yesterday by accident when i was looking for some information on the K1 and I am so happy I did!

I was actually very sad at the time because I had checked on the status of our I-129F on the USCIS web site and it showed the CSC was still working on February forms......huh

Then I looked at some of your members posts on the timeline and it showed many who had filed in April and May 08 and already received their NA02 or 2nd letter from CSC.

WOW ....We are both happy with the news that we may be closer than we thought!

However I have a few questions that i hope someone can answer. Thanks in Advance !

1) Why does the USCIS web site show that the CSC is working on February 08 apps and very far behind when there are several Visa Journey member cases that an NA02 has already been received from a I-129F app submitted in April and even May 2008 ?

2) Also i noticed that the average processing time from when the Embassy in Vietnam sends out the Fiance letter till an interview is 90 days. Is this because the list that they send to the Fiance has many many things needed to be accomplished before and appointment for interview can be made?

The reason being we have been trying to get many of these items done ahead of time while we are waiting in hopes that we will be ahead of the game when she does get the letter from the Embassy in Vietnam.

Or is it the Embassy in Vietnam is just very slow about their process?

Thank You,

Kevin & Lisa

P.S. We had purchased a book initially to help guide us through the process and while I am grateful for all of that information i wish i would have known about Visa Journey when we started the K1 process in April of 2008.

From what I've seen so far the Visa Journey site it very crisp with to the point information.

And with interaction available from a community of like persons trying to achieve a similar goal it has to be a Win Win!!!

It seems everyones case can be very different. I expected it to take much longer but now we are almost finished at under the average time (we started in June 2008 and will finish in a few weeks). Most of the wait times displayed on all the embassy/immigration websites are estimated at longer than it normally takes.

VisaJourney has also been the most helpful throughout the process for us! We didn't use any services/lawyers, and all the example forms on VJ were all we needed.

Hey,

If you are almost done it means that you didn't upgrade your timeline, can you do it please ?

Thank you :)

To answer question 1, I wouldn't pay that much attention to USCIS dates. Everyone is going to be different as you can see by VJ members proving that. So, I never look @ there processing timeline, I just keep an eye out here to see when people post that they got ther NOA 2 and look @ their timeline to gauge how far off I am

I can't really answer you question to #2, but I'm sure there will be someone that can. But you're going in the right direction by getitng all the stuff you can do ahead of time, it will make everything less stressful when you do get the packet for the next step as you've got a head start.

Welcome to VJ and good luck with your petition!!

This website does have a wealth of information for immigration.

It's also very nice to interact with others while going through this stressful process.

The people here know first hand, how frustrating this whole process is.

I welcome you also to the site and Congratulate you on your start of the Visa Journey.

Wish you a speedy and error free Visa Journey.
