Hey everyone! Josh and I got our NO2 on the 19th of this month. So we're waiting for packet three to arrive. The thing is, because my work know im leaving, theyre making my life hell. Giving me ####### shifts. I'm turning up for work and ive been tipp-exed off the rota without anyone telling me etc. Ideally id love to give my months notice, finish at the beginning of november. I'd then have time to spend with my family and friends before my interview then head over to the states asap after i get the visa. What are you guys doing about your work? do i need to be employed at the time of my interview?

Hi Fee,

as far as I'm aware the consulate in London couldn’t care less whether you are employed or not at the time of the interview unless, as Gwen said your income is contributing to your I-134. I can understand how you feel about your work and how demoralising it is... all you do anyway is count days, especially now that the end is in sight. I haven't told anybody at work at all about even getting engaged let alone moving as I don't want to be food for the gossip mill. For me the worst is that I need to give them 2 months notice! On top of waiting for 6-8 months already...my goodness, just thinking about it makes me depressed  . But take heart, most of us are in very similar situations...it will pass maybe not as soon as we'd like, but it will pass. You are in my thoughts.

Hope the rest of your journey is fast and completely problem and stress free. (F)

P.S. I lived in Fife for couple of months few years back...lots of fond memories...

My fiance had to give three months notice for his job, and it looks like he'll be done in late October (since he's in retail, it doesn't make sense for him to leave just before Christmas). We were a little worried about money, but then we realized that ultimately it's better for him to have some time with family and friends before moving to the States. We're still worried that our petition is going to get stuck at CSC, but--with having to give three months notice--we didn't want him to have to rush through it all. If we DO get stuck at CSC, he can always move back to London and stay with his parents while we wait...

So yeah, in your situation quitting seems like a good idea. Enjoy life!
