how long till my ds230 entered in the system?

i was just wondering,how long till NVC enter my Ds230 in their syste,?they just received mine yesterday sept.22.. im so happy and i cant wait to call and find out my interview...Ü

hi.. based on my experience when i pass my DS form to the NVC after 3 weeks i received an appointment letter so no need to call.. good luck :thumbs:

Canadian to US here, married , no children...DS-230 sent Sept and was told by visa Center it could take up to 8 weeks for processing even longer if documents or forms not filled out completely.

r u the petitioner or the beneficiary? coz some says that the petitioner receives the appt. letter first than the beneficiary.. my hubby sent in my ds230 and it as delivered to NVC sept.22

beneficiary.. yeah it's true.. coz my husband sent me a copy of my appointment letter so that i can go to SLEC for my medical.. but after 3 days i received my copy of my appointment letter..

yes.. i sent directly to NVC together with the other documents (like BC, MC, NBI, colored copy of passport, 2x2 picture and the letter from the NVC with the barcode) after they received that documents your case would be complete.. and you wait for the appointment letter.. i've done with my interview (June 16, 2008).

After receipt in their mailroom, it usually takes about 2 to 5 days for NVC to enter the DS-230 into their system.

After it's in their system, it usually takes about 5 to 10 days for review (resulting in Case Complete or RFE).

Call everyday to find out if there's an RFE. The automated system is not reliable...you need to talk to an operator.

If you find out that you have an RFE right away, you can submit the requested info, and only lose about 2 days.

If you wait for the RFE letter, you could lose 2 weeks or more.

The above is based on personal experience and current trends as of this posting.

thank you very much.. i think i should call and bug NVC everyday.. i called them yesterday and the operator said they don't have my ds230 yet,but they received it the 22nd..

The operator told you what she knows. It takes at least 2 days to go from the mailroom into the system. So you're both correct.

Your package is in the building, but not in your case file. But keep calling...that's why they're there.

They don't really know, so yes, that is the standard answer.

eYep, that means someone has opened your envelope, scanned the barcode cover-sheet, and placed it in a pile where the reviewers can locate it.

Should be another 5 to 7 days. You made a copy of the package...right?

Check through your copy to see if there's anything you forgot, or should have changed.

We all make mistakes....if you find it early enough, you can send in the new info (with the barcoded cover-sheet again) and save yourself some time on the RFE process.
