Isn't this the standard site --> NVC

Maybe I am wrong, but this is the one I have been reading all this time.

Yes, it is the standard NVC site. There used to have two links for document processing, the Appointment NVC Processing and the Standard NVC Processing. They are different in regard to which documents to submit to NVC and some consulates use the one and others use another.

Yes that is interesting the standard link is gone and I can't even pull up the supplimental form for Guangzhou anymore. I wonder if they are changing the procedures? I prepared the documents based on the standard method which is what China uses.

It looks like NVC does not have Standard Processing anymore. One the Applicant Document Processing link (http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html) it does mention Guangzhou as an exception when sending interview appointment.

I think the best thing to do is to always go to the DOS link, pull up the corresponding embassy and see if they are standard or appointment processing because the NVC was updating it as the changes took place. If the embassy that you pull up does not say "standard processing" it means the NVC is now making the appointments at the embassy. Which is better and faster anyway, I think.

Guangzhou is back on the list for supplimental documents but the page can no longer be found. Looks like the changes are still a work in progress. It looks like I will have to have my wife send me all of the supporting documents. Since it now seems they have to be sent to NVC rather than be submitted in China.

I just noticed that too. Also if you check NVC Appointment Post List page and Guangzhou is not there! So I am totally confused and will have to wait to receive NVC paper instruction in mail before moving on. Bummer!

Look like everything is sent to NVC now. This is from Guangzhou's IR-1/CR-1 instructions:

Step 3

Once the Consulate receives the petition, it will review the file to ensure that all necessary documents have been submitted by the beneficiary. If more documents are required, the Consulate will resend the instruction packet to the beneficiary. Once all documents have been received, the case will be scheduled for an interview. Interviews are typically scheduled for a date within 2 to 4 months of this time.

Everything is sent to NVC or packet 3 is resent based on these instructions.

JBHypno, I spoke to a NVC rep last night and confirmed that procedure for Guangzhou did change recently to Appointment Processing as other consulates. So be prepared and have your wife collect all documents in China and mail to you ASAP.

Hope your I-130 is approved soon.
