Hi there, why don't you do the visa processing yourself? It's very easy and less hassle-free compared in getting lawyers/agencies that offers the said service. A lot from here who had lawyers regretted doing so. It's just a waste of money and time. VJ members who have gone thru the process are very much willing to help/answer your questions regarding the step by step visa process. Tell your fiancee that you better do it yourselves.

Hi, i want to ask what is lawyer for?if you need advises, we are here to help you guys. based on experience and others shared infos, lawyers can't help to expedite the case, they just help you to fill and submit the application but still the NVC can decide about ur case. you are on the right place, just read the guidelines and ask if you are in doubt..goodluck and hope you have stress free visa journey..God bless!!!

well here is the thing, i filed our i 129-f fiancee petition back in march 2008, our noa#1 is on march 18 2008, we are still waiting for our noa#2, our case was last updated on april 7 2008 at vermont service center, we have not received any rfe's either, i have called my lawyer, and he tells me the same thing, that i have to wait, i called vermont center, and they keep telling me that my petition is withing processing dates,(february 2 2008),i dont know what else to do, my fiancee in cebu told me that there are travel agencies that file fiancee visas in a very short time , i guess what she means is that this agencies have some type of connection with the us goverment, i really doubt that this is true, but anyway this is my story, as of now i am still waiting for our papers, and the waiting is not getting any easier, i hope our papers will come soon. thanks for your concern, take care

True!!! I'm from Cebu! during my K1 visa we hired lawyer based in New York which cost us $ 1800.00 for the K1 visa only. Now I just read visa journey guidelines for my AOS and decided to do it myself so far I had my biometric done and no RFE yet(hope not). I did purchased my ticket at Travelex (Metrobank Building Fuente Osmena) for sure your fiancee knows that place.

Hi jab!

I'm from Cebu City, Phils. and I just had my K1 visa approved. No need for you to hire a lawyer. They can't expedite it anyway. We filed it by ourselves. Just be patient. It took us almost a year for the whole process.

regarding the bold phrases, being american do u believe in that?that US emabassy will have a connection with agency just to expedite the application??i dont think so..cause eventhough you are senator, mayor or holding the big position or have the best lawyer, the NVC will do the same thing..since you got ur NOA1, there is no more reason to hire another lawyer.case to case basis the action regarding the application. all you have to do is wait and just save your money for other impt things.while waiting you can read all the stories and guidelines here in VJ and i'm sure someday you are one of good samaritan who will give ur advices without talent fee!! goodluck and god bless!!

It's been 6 months now since you filed your petition. Why don't you call Vermont center again. As far as I know, VSC approved petitions quickly than CSC. Your lawyer might have gotten the NOA2 and misplaced it? Just a weird thought, but it could be  Keep doing follow up calls to VSC. It's strange until now you didn't get your approval when it's already 6 months from the day you filed it, and to think you didn't get any RFE.

On the other hand, I don't believe any agency has a connection with the US Embassy and could make the processing easy and quick.

Good luck. Hopefully your NOA2 is on the way to your doorstep.

I recommend you read the guide here in VJ. I would also recommend not seeking legal assistance for immigration from an attorney in the Philippines. Good luck
