Good News!

We got TOUCHED today! WOO HOO!

Here's the story of my touches...

In September I moved from Ohio to Virginia for a job. I updated my address w/USCIS, hence the touch in September. That was them just updating my address.

That date stayed the same until 11/10, when I updated my address for a 2nd time, because I switched apartments (same building, different apt number).

Then TODAY I look on there and there is another touch!!!! Last time I changed my address there was only a touch one day, then nothing... this time 2 days! I realize it could mean anything, but what I hope it means is that somebody over there thought, "Hey. Since I have to have this file out anyways, why don't I just go ahead and work on it?"

So... maybe we'll finally get approved soon!?

Oh, I'm so hopeful. It's pathetic how great it feels just to have our case touched!

That's awesome news! Keep checking the site today and I bet you will see an approval. My case showed "pending" on the day of my touch until 8pm at night (Im in Cal time zone too). I was checking every hour. So it can come late in the night when you wouldn't expect people would be working.

Also, I never received an email.

It would be interesting to know just how the approval process really works. What happens to a file once it's received? Etc.....

It's from a former USCIS adjudicator who also went through the K-1 process and offered some interesting insights as to what happens to our files once they hit the service centers.

mnmarty03 - It's great to hear you received a touch today, especially since it is a Federal holiday. Please keep us informed once your case is approved. For each case that gets approved, means ours is one step closer.

annax - Thanks so much for giving those of us waiting hope that "ours" will be the next case approved. Your thoughts and encouragement are much appreciated. You noticed your approval at 8:00pm? Wow! Someone was working late....

Thanks guys. I'm holding my breath, hoping. Still is showing pending though. Just have to be patient. It could mean approval soon.. or it could just mean nothing. Time will tell!

And I will definitely let you know when I'm approved.. we're fast approaching the 5 month mark.. it'd better be soon!

Now I'm off to go work on info for packet 3.
