I think our case lost in the mail! help

I asked to transfer my wife’s case from Amman Jordan to Ankara. It is already 30 days and didn’t get to the US embassy in Ankara because the embassy sends files visa regular mail which make me scare it can or could be lost. My question what the next move if the case got lost in during transfer? What Should I do? What will they do?...Help

I know of a member who had his case transferred from Ciudad Juarez to Bogotá but since the NVC screwed up sending it to the wrong embassy, they took care of it. He didn't know when it had reached Bogotá so he had to call them often until they told him that he had her case.

Have you called the NVC or DOS to find out what can be done if a case gets lost when being transferred? They might have an answer for you.

I called the DOS and I spoke a a lady doesn't know much. She told me they don't transfere files but may be the embassy in Amman can resend the file. I don't think that is true too. because the embassy will have electronic version of the file just like Ankara so why would they mail....

I don't know what should I do..Amman said they forward the file and Ankara tells didn't receive it.

I would keep calling both embassies until one of them tells you what is going on. It could be that Ankara did receive it but are not aware of it yet.

Cheers hun and good to see ur name again but not under these circumstances - I thought u were done whats going on when did they send between embassies and just keep calling until you get someone that is somewhat more understanding.

I acutally tracked our application from NVC to the embassy but it looks like you switched embassies ????

Thank you Susie. I thought we all should've done by now. I switched embassies three times. My wife lives in Iraq and the US embassy in Iraq doesn't process Visa application so she needs to go third country first we were assigned to Cairo but didn't get visa to go there so I moved our case to Amman and they didn't give us visa either they just wasted four months of our time and they did gave her visa to go Jordan I didn’t let her in the country they told her she needs her ID and Iraqi paper issue before the US invasion of Iraq. I called Turkish Embassy in Baghdad and they told me she get visa at the same day if she can bring the email from the US embassy in Ankara prove that she has interview there so I asked the US embassy in Amman to forward the file again and we are waiting. I looked at the US web site and I was many Iraqi transfer their files from Amman to Ankara I know that because case start with AMM instead of ANK. The only thing scare me if it was lost in the mail

Dont lose hope, keep calling, get someone that you can speak to in a friendly manner and try to spark some interest with them, I am at a lose for words here, absolutely devistated to here this since of your speediness going thru and we sorta laughed and now i sigh for you and your wife- can anybody help you at State Department since its sorta on the Iraq issue or do they not get involved with this stuff-

Hey sharif, I think You should Keep in touch with the embassy in amman and if the case got lost I think its thier fault not yours!

I am thinking they are trying find out what happen to the file. I wrote to Ankara they said they didn't receive it yet

they don't tell me what is the process for loosing a case. Does the NVC send a copy of the file but I think they have

copy in their system. Any know what do they do if they loose a case?

Do you know when your case was sent to the Ukraine Embassy? Usually if you call, the NVC will give a date and then you can start tracking the package.

The NVC sent on 9/25 diplomatic papers to the Ukraine Embassy in Kiev and they were received on 9/29 (AWB 9459506814)

Is your case in this package? If you need help tracking your case just let me know.

What means your case went to AP - huh?? I mean you just left NVC and transferred to different embassies, so confued you havent even had the interview yet, at that point, its possible to get the AP notice 221G - shakes heads wonders what the heck is going on but maybe AP can be for finding a lost file - hell i dont even know anymore.
