Hello everyone,

Can someone please help me... :help:

My fiance is about to mail me the affidavit of support and when we are going through everything prior to sending it to me, I reviewed the packet and it stated that I-134 needs to come up with Form 1040 & W2, aside from the letter from the employer and the bank info. My fiance requested for the Tax transcripts from IRS, can I asked him to send it to me instead and bring it to my interview, or we have to have the Form 1040 & W2 and just re-schedule my interview. Your immediate response/advice is highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Shine

whatever you do, do not reschedule the interview. if a document is missing, you would just go on AR and submit the document when you receive it. you can use either a copy of the form 1040 or a Tax transcript.

Both the IRS-Transcript(s) and the form 1040/w2 (which are IRS income tax forms and supporting document) are used to show proof of income for a previous year(s) - you can use either one (which ever you happen to have).

If using copies of IRS tax return you'll need a copy of:

  • 1040 (or 1040EX, which ever was used) Form
  • W-2 and any other supporting documents sent

If using an IRS Tax Transcript all you'll need is the transcript itself.

What if you are self employed and do not have W-2's? I thought the I-134 says W-2's or tax return if self employed?
