FYI For Those who has kids during medical @ SLEC

Here's another info to us mothers who will be taking our kids with us during medical. My friend & her son had their medical just this morning, Sept.15,2008...and just this evening nag YM kami. She told me that their interview date was moved from Sept.19 to Oct.13, 2008. The reason is that her son just had his MMR shot recently and according to the Physicians in SLEC the child can't have the Tuberculin Test, bcoz it should be done 4 weeks after the MMR shot...and they have to come back for the tuberculin test on Oct.8 again...G00d thing my son has his MMR july 25, 2008 & our medical is on Oct.16-17, 2008...i guess that's enough time already.

What are the other shots guys that you know that has to be an interval for a period of days? Good thing i decided to finish my son's immunizations here with his pedia, kng hindi sana nagpa balik-balik din kami. we're here in the province pa naman & ang mahal nang plane ticket ngayon plus the hotel & all the expenses...haaaay! kawawa naman friend ko, her husband was expecting them na sana 1st week of October...d bale, there's a reason for everything naman.

The child is 6 & he only had his MMR booster shot recently from his pedia, i thi8nk it was only Sept.8 when he got the MMMR booster.

I see, thought the child was given MMR at SLEC.

taht's funny!!! oh well... that really sucks when you don't have much of a choice. this only happens to Immigrant application though right? I am applying for K1 so my kid does not need all these? Correct me if I'm wrong.

i have no idea, but i guess these all applies to the us...especially the kids has to get this boosters.

This kid had his MMR outside of St. Lukes and too soon to get the TB test. This is good information if you plan on getting your child's immunizations done at their pediatrician before you leave. Based on this information, you should not get an MMR if you have less than 4 weeks time till your medical exam at St. Lukes.

Realistically, K-1's and their K-2 kids don't have to have any shots before they leave as long as the get them in the USA before AOS. Because of time concerns with my daughter's flight back to the Davao from Manila, we skipped the immunizations at SLEC and decided to get them here in the USA. We had no problems with visa. Having said that, I would recommend getting them at SLEC because you pay for them anyway in the fee and its expensive here in the states.
