How to get International Driver's License?

Automotive Association of the Philippines (AAP) located at 683 Aurora Blvd., QC with tel. no. (02) 723-08-08 for more details.

CLICK HERE to answer the rest of your questions.

I already have Non-Pro and me and fiance` research about using it in Michigan, and we found out I can use it for a certain period of time. The international Driver's license is just to translate license if it is not in English. Ours is English basically we don't need International Driver's License, that's based on my research.

Hope I helped you in some ways.

Cloe here :)

God Bless

the best answer is to check with the state dmv (or whatever it's called there) of the state you'll be going to.

Charles has a point... I have been reading about Michigan only, heard some used their PI License in some states for a certain period of time also...

Check the DMV WEBSITE first, find your State and the rules about it.

(wala naman ano man Nanz, hehe)

If you prefer international license, you need to renew it yearly.

You have the option to get international license or US license. Just choose which would be cheaper in the long run.

Check the state you will be going to on dmv.org

Some say you can use your foreign license for 3 months others say you can use it for up to a year alongside an international permit.

Hi there nanz, try to ask ur fiancee first if our Phil. International driver's license is acceptable to their estate. According to nimfa's husband Rodge a Police traffic officer whom I met and spoke personally, it varies from estate to estate but mostly its not acceptable. My husband told me so, is why and I didn't bother to get one either. Take care.

Nanz,

I am sure you will be busy when you get there in the US, wedding preparation, meeting the families and such will make your time occupied.. Dont waste your time getting the International Drivers in the Philippines. You will just spend money.. save that money for your incoming trip and when you get to the US.

Are you really "in need" to drive when you got there asap? If no, I dont see any reason why you need to get this.. and besides if you knew already how to drive, it will be easier for you to apply for the drivers license.. Just wait for social security number then you will be good to go..

Even if you have an International Driving License, you will have to still apply for a US Drivers License, you will still need to take Driving Test (There is handbook that you can read) so you can pass the test, and most importantly the Road Test.. You will be doing Parallel parking and test driving ..

So why not just do it once? Please refer to the state where you going and check the DMV website for more information..

When I took Driving Test in Texas, I had someone from Columbia and China that has International License as well but they can not use it.. Better check for more information, dont just rely in this forum..
