Hi everybody,

I think this is my 3rd post here, I've been reading and checking this wonderful site a lot lately whenever I have free time I just come here and read the posts and the guides, all you being a wonderful help and support to others who really need it :) like a one close community sharing the same issues and really understand each other's feelings, God bless you all.

The thing is sometimes the more I read on this site the more I get confused, am living and working in UAE (United Arab Emirates) my fiancée is coming to meet me for the 1st time staying like for two weeks, we've been known each other almost 5 years now on the internet beside phone, if things went fine and hopefully will between us I just want to know couple things or I think my mind will blow,

if we go thru the K1 route and start the procedures when she go back to the US, will the petition will be on hold when it reached to the service center which I believe Nebraska since the new IMBRA regulations?? And if it wont be on hold and saying things went fine to the point of consulate interview here in UAE. There some kind of large age difference between us (shes being much older) will that be a red flag and big no for the officer so they might deny the visa??? Cuz if we got a denial which will be a disaster for us , it means if we want to apply for another K1 we need to wait 2 years since the new IMBRA rules, that means long time separation and waiting which is hard to bear, we've already waited long on the internet.

One last thing, for the above reason might happen, if we decide to get marry during this meeting, is applying for K3 instead of K1 will waive the possibly red flag from age difference since we are married?? even thu I've read on this site also that marrying in a short period will sometimes rise a red flag on some situations.

Please advice

Thanks very much (L)

Nad, u ask some good questions. first hi and welcome to VJ. u said u r living and working in the UAE, and that kinda brought somethings to my mind. my first visit with my husband(we met online) was in the UAE also. Diera, Dubai to be exact. Im not sure if this rule still applies, but unless you are a permanent resident or citizen of the UAE, u would not be able to marry there. And Im not sure if you could have your visa interview there also. Now im just stating what I knew of a few years ago, things could be different now. If you 2 decided to get married there(if possible), ur fiancee just have to file the k3 or CR1. About the age difference thing, it just depends upon the embassy and the CO performing the interview. Sometimes a person can luck up and not have any problems w/the interview and then sometimes the interview can be a "nightmare." Just take your time and weigh your options. Find out whether or not those rules i told u about still exists b4 you make plans to do anything when you fiancee gets there. Hope I have been a lil bit of a help.
